Re: Clear backpacks

Maybe if we ran schools more like prisons we could prevent weapons and other contraban from getting in.

Oh wait, that hasn't worked either. :biggrinjester:

Re: Police in Denison said a restaurant employee refused to serve two Denison officers early Saturday morning.

I think police SHOULD be a protected class, and should be allowed to carry in any business. Cops are working for the public, and it is an insult to treat them like criminals. If people want to be snippy about LE, let them move to Cuba. :rules: It's interesting, because Cuba is what we refer to as a...

Re: In n Out Burger VS Whataburger

No surprise that as wage legislation rises, jobs wane. It amazes me that so many people fail to understand the easily predictable outcomes of using government force to inject social policies into a capitalist market. I've run into a couple of places with the Kiosks, last one was in Fort Stockton. S...

Re: Manager at Texas Whataburger denies service to detective because of his gun

I think LEOs should be able to carry anywhere because they are the authority that uphold the law. Just like I feel that citizens should be able to carry anywhere because we are the immediate authority of our own well being. a LEO wouldn't want to be caught in a situation without his gun wishing he ...

Re: Yelp* reviews for businesses that post 30.06 and/or 30.07

Yelp reviews and ratings are useless as it is. Too many reviewers are posting because of customer biases, employee support. Personal revenge or friends and family of the owners. Yelp used to be a somewhat interesting tool. It's pretty useless these days

Re: FBI Agent has ND

Fortunately there was video! Otherwise it would have just been blamed on the gun discharging when it hit the ground. I have long maintained, that the majority of ND, being blamed on the gun hitting the ground, are actually caused by the person trying to catch it and grabbing the trigger, or doing j...

We can laugh at the Britts, but it wasn't that long ago that we had some pretty knife laws here in Texas, All folding lockback knives were illegal in San Antonio.

Re: Manager at Texas Whataburger denies service to detective because of his gun

The cop didn't have to disarm all he had to do was cover it up. Just like us of the lower classes are required to do. What bothers me is that people for some reason this guy is entitled more than the rest of us.

Re: Manager at Texas Whataburger denies service to detective because of his gun

Whataburger has a policy of no open carry, but concealed is fine. Just like HEB. :iagree: It's just a dress code policy. Whataburger isn't anti gun. Concealed carry is fine. The guy should have complied with the dress code and covered up. Show some respect for private property rights and enjoy your...

Re: Manager at Texas Whataburger denies service to detective because of his gun

I lived in Friendswood for 20 some odd years. It very well could've been an issue with the cop that the manager had. I respect all police officers, but many Friendswood cops have been looked at questioningly by many residents, including clean cut law abiding folk, not just criminals mad because the...

Re: Manager at Texas Whataburger denies service to detective because of his gun

If they would toss me or any other citizen out for wearing a gun, why shouldn't they kick out gun-toting cops without a uniform? Cop can either cover it or leave it in the car, just like the rest of us. Seems like he is just looking for special treatment. We've known how so many of them get turned o...

Re: Gov. Greg Abbott announced a new school safety plan and proposed changes to gun laws

Bought a Marlin bolt action .22 when I was 12 living in NYC. New York City! No background check, no paperwork, just cash. My grandson now owns that rifle and it fires as good as when new. Of course I have it locked in a safe and only let him have it when we go out together. To be honest though, I w...
