The first time I and my dog were attacked (by an male Aust. Shepard) I had my .380. I probably waited too long. Dogs do move very fast. I saw the dog come through a hole in his fence and run towards us. He made a distinctive low growl. The low growl is what lets you know that the situation is seriou...

http://www.dogproblems.com/art48.htm

Unfortunately it does not integrate how defending yourself with a firearm goes into the mix.

Training against a Dog/animal attacks?

On thing I found really lacking in my CHL training was on the subject of Dog/animal attacks. These kinds of attacks are very common. At least as common as criminal attacks. I've had 2 dog attacks in the last year... But my CHL class didn't cover anything about Texas law regarding dog attacks. It did...

Texas courts, over the last century, have repeatedly asked the Legislature to define “traveling”, and the Legislature has never seen fit to define it. I was reading in the TSRA newletter yesterday that the TSRA is currently working to get the legislature to define "traveling" to include all car tra...

INTERACTIVE GUNFIGHTING

Suarez International has an interesting class on Interactive gunfighting. They do force-on-force training with airsoft replicas, allowing training that you can't do on the shooting range due to safety constraints. They have a description of the class here: http://www.suarezinternational.com/igfdebri...

Your LEAST favorite shooting range?

Since we've got a thread about favorite ranges, I thought it might be entertaining/informative to hear about your least favorite ranges and why they are your least favorite ranges? I welcome humorous stories, and please keep things civil. I remember one time a the League City range a new group of sh...

I'm no expert on NFA items, but I've met plenty of people with NFA items in Texas and as long as you've got your paperwork it shouldn't be a problem. The biggest issue can be getting a local signature for your license. In Galveston county (where I live) its not supposed to be too hard, but I hear Ha...
