Re: US Military Rifle Scopes Inscribed With Bible Verses
Personally, I don't see what's the big deal. I'll bet that most users of these products had no idea about this. I know I certainly didn't. And for sure none of the Iraqis or Afghans who were being trained on these scopes knew about it; and neither did Al-Qaeda or the Taliban. But now, thanks to the ...

Re: Tell us about your gun battle experiences
Excaliber, that's an interesting bump in numbers. To what is the increase attributed in your mind? I'm wondering if it corresponds to the issuance of "Wonder 9s" to LEOs and the phasing out of revolvers as duty weapons. Did the tendency to fire more rounds go up when pistol capacities went...

Re: need a little help
Do not have the specifics but being an owner of a 1911 and family members owning a Glock I would definitely have to say that the 1911 is thinner than the Glock. :) Ditto. I own and carry two different 1911s, and we also own a Glock 19 (the wife's). Even with the wraparound Hogue grips I've put on m...

Ooh-rah TAM! Off-topic: Have you seen the previews for the remake of "The A-Team"? If I recall correctly that is a movie based on the true-life adventures of TAM. I look forward to watching it. "rlol" I could be wrong, but I rarely let that deter me. Yeah, but that was back befo...

Re: Tell us about your gun battle experiences
IIRC, a personal defense gun battle boils down to "3-3-3". That's 3 shots fired, at 3 yards, in 3 seconds. Has anyone else heard this? SIA Not that exact variation, but something like it. I believe that statistically, most gun battles consist of 2-3 shots fired by either party. I know tha...

It won't be long before the usual Texas heat returns. That will probably mean that you will be changing from the type of shirts you are wearing right not. Living in Texas is a continuing problem with concealment with our drastic weather changes. I have had to go to an in-the-pocket holster and carr...

I was there as a civilian, with no mandate, no authority, and darn little protection. I worked in downtown L.A., and I watched the hundreds ...

Re: 10 Darwin Awards that prove "You can't fix stupid."
If you go to DarwinAwards.com, there are some more recent awards for 2009. Also, there are some good suggestions for the Darwin Awards motto: "Chlorinating the Gene Pool" "What would Darwin do?" "I DON'T THINK, therefore I am not." -Descartes' last words? ( my favorite ...

I once shot and killed 14 communist ninjas with a well placed .45 ACP hollowpoint in the middle of each of their foreheads. I knew they were commies because they were all dressed in red ninja clothes and kept quoting from Mao's Little Red Book at me. I kept the 15th round for myself, just in case th...

Quite a while back I was driving through downtown Dallas on Lamar Street and was about to cross Commerce Street when I noticed three guys with "lowrider" pants in my path ahead "cool walking" and crossing against the light. I pretended not to see them and used the console mounte...

Re: Tea-Partiers are "right wing extremists" and "radicals"
Massachusetts is still a very liberal state. The people there have bought into Obamacare yerars ago. The one they fear though is a one party government. They do recognize that no good can come of the Democrats having absolute power. This is why they have voted for certain Republican Governors such ...

Re: Another great story about the importance of 2nd Amendment
I am normally 100% diametrically opposed to anything that comes out the Koslings, and I find that most of them are truly deranged; but I have been pleasantly surprised in the past year or so to see that some of them actually understand the 2nd Amendment.

Re: How many carry more than one gun?
I rarely ever carry a backup gun. On the rare occasion when I do, it is usually a 642 Airweight carried in an ankle or pocket holster. But the reason I don't usually carry a BUG is weight... ....as in I don't want to carry any more of it. A loaded pistol plus 1 or 2 extra magazines is already enough...

Re: WTS: Springfield 1911 Service Trophy Pistol, 45 ACP, Houston
This should be a pretty good pistol for whoever the lucky buyer is. I bought a used Springfield Loaded Parkerized from another member and have never regretted it. It's a great pistol.
