Marine Corps Adopts Sig Sauer M18
SIG Sauer announced this week that the U.S. Marine Corps is adopting the M18—the compact version of the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System (MHS)—as its official duty pistol. Speculation the branch would go with one of the two MHS versions was put to rest in the Navy’s 2019 budget estimate [PDF]—pub...

Re: California to Texas migration
Instapundit (pjmedia.com/instapundit/) argues that someone such as the Koch Brothers should fund a welcome wagon of sorts for newcomers to Texas from blue states. The idea is to deliver to them literature and engage them in discussions to help them see that the differences in policies between red an...

Re: Ban carry at a parade or street festival on public streets
The statute prohibits signs on property owned or leased by a governmental entity. This event is happening on the streets, which typically are easements. Rarely does any level of government own the fee, putting aside highways, which TxDOT now buys in fee. Does the easement count as governmental owner...

Re: Ban carry at a parade or street festival on public streets
Am I the only one who notices the irony of a parade that celebrates inclusiveness and personal freedom of expression wanting to limit the ability of those who attend to protect themselves while doing so. Because those hosting it aren't about inclusiveness and freedom. They're about demonstrating po...

Re: Governor Abbott Signs Ten Pro-Second Amendment Bills into Law
So what is the outcome of House Bill 1791? Will it have any real impact on the local government and associated groups hanging signs? The bill's a good thing, but I doubt it will reach signs such as those universally posted by the City of San Antonio. Paraphrasing, they say carrying is banned unless...

I’ve given her three choices: She can either give her weapon to me, sell it or move out in three weeks. The article goes on to make clear that the hysterical father thinks his neighborhood is safe, but that his daughter will be financially strapped if forced to move. So he's willing to make her mov...

Satire: Loophole allows those banned by Facebook to nevertheless buy firearms.
A Facebook ban: it can cost you readers, revenue, reputation, and sometimes even your employment. But Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has butted up against the limits of his power, in the form of a controversial federal law that allows those who have violated Facebook’s Terms of Service Agreement ...

In truth I'm not likely to go, but I'd love to tour the Okavango Delta and have thought Botswana pretty safe. Is it not?
