I think what gigag04 was saying is that the data is in the TCIC, not the DL or vehicle record, but the cruiser's computer display shows data gathered from all the databases so yes, the officer sees it.

Re: VA: More zero-tolerance insanity

Anybody else remember buying a pea shooter and packet of peas at the five and dime? Grew up in soybean country so didn't really need the peas. Course, if I'd taken it to school..... Come to think of it, I did cut one short enough to conceal in my hand. Shot peas at my friend who sat on the other sid...

Lord I hope my wife doesn't see that picture!

But I don't think we could get both our vehicles in our "two car" garage if it was empty. Well, not and be able to get out of them. I swear they should paint "Compact Car Only" in front of the garage door.

Re: Obama speech on guns - The Onion exclusive :-)

.... No it's not. The Onion is actually a reputable and well run satirical website. Your copy of Norton is mistaken. Norton does this regularly, where they list a perfectly safe website as dangeous, forcing website owners and designers to prove that there is nothing wrong with the site. I've had to...

Why you should thank Green Bay

(From an email I received.) Every Red Blooded American should jump in line to support the Green Bay Packers! The Packers defeated the Chicago Bears last Sunday afternoon thus earning them the opportunity to go to the Super Bowl. By doing so, they saved the Hard-Working, Red Blooded, Taxpaying Americ...

Bandwidth, time, number of websites accessed, downloaded/uploaded material, other stuff? (I'm not to savvy on IT infrastructure stuff) The idea of net neutrality rea...

Re: Question for those who served in the military.

I was a platoon leader and always just purchased the pin on rank for promoting my people. There was no rank insignia issued, either pin or sewn on. And any ceremony was usually just a platoon or company formation.

77-83 time frame so things may have changed a bit but never heard it was otherwise.

Re: Just curious, does anyone here have a NSA CHL?

I find revolvers more complicated with the external hammer, half-cocked, cock and lock, and everything else to remember. I find it slightly amusing that they're considered so much easier that a SA license covers it, but an NSA license won't cover the super easy insert magazine, pull trigger of the ...

Re: BAD gun buying experience

My Academy story. Went in with my unloaded 1858 Colt Navy percussion black powder pistol to find a holster. They called someone up from the gun department, he took the pistol, walked me to the holsters, handed me the pistol, we talked while I tried different holsters, I handed the pistol back to him...

That's just no bueno for anyone involved. I can't imagine someone yelling that out. :???: Our problem is that we here actually care about having the CHL and understanding the ramifications of that. We want ALL CHL holders to be upright, thoughtful, responsible citizens. But there's nothing to stop ...
