Revolver vs semiauto effective barrel lengths
In the case of a semiauto (and a derringer), some of the barrel length is taken up by the round itself, which would seemingly reduce the effective length. Contrast that with a revolver where all of the barrel is ahead of the round. As an example, my Bodyguard 380 claims a 2.75" barrel, which wo...

Legal stopping of the threat by an armed victim is by far the most satisfying punishment.C-dub wrote:Might be nice if the death penalty could be carried out more often by the intended victim just before the rape actually occurred.

Re: Woman calls 911....Get shot
My takeaway from this tragedy is to stay inside your home and wait for police to come to the door, much like you should stay in the vehicle after a traffic stop.

Disclosure of information on weapons involved in ND's and other mishaps
Whenever incidents like this happen, the make and model of the weapon and whether there were any modifications should be disclosed, which would serve to warn and inform the shooting public. http://m.chron.com/neighborhood/cleveland/news/article/Liberty-County-commissioner-involved-in-11291598.php?ut...

Re: Workplace Violence Policy
Why do I find the mantra of run/hide/fight questionable? Better to let a killer do his thing than face a potential lawsuit because the employees were armed and defended themselves...though I don't know why lawsuits of the unarmed/unprotected killed/wounded family members won't occur... The obvious ...

Re: 71 year-old man fights back against armed robbers
I know a couple "70+ year olds" that would be offended by being referred to as "elderly men". Danged good shooters, too! But age is a valuable "card" when justifying disparity of force. I'm 57, which isn't old in the strictest sense, but I wouldn't hesitate to use it a...

Re: Unrestricted Carry For LTC - What Would You Be Willing To Give Up?
As far as property owner rights, they should be allowed to ban weapons but not without a downside as is the case now. If a property owner chooses to ban weapons, their legal liability for the security of the patrons should be increased and reflected in their insurance rates. However, if they choose ...

One would think that in all the cities where this mayhem has occurred thus far, Charlotte would have the most armed citizens.
There was another such police shooting in Tulsa yet no riots. I think I know why that is.

Or so the twisted headline reads.
Seem like justified self-defense to me.
Have the idiots who wrote the article ever heard of Reginald Denny?

Questions about your religion from strangers
http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2016/09/17/minnesota/ Given multiple incidents abroad and now domestically, I would consider an inquiry from a stranger as to whether I was a Muslim to be a threat and at the very least get my hand on my weapon and command them to get back. How do others f...

No doubt that particular crime inspired many to become first-time gun owners and concealed carriers, and it was a factor in my decision to become both back in 2010.
