Re: Texas: Urge Committee Members to Oppose Anti-Gun Legislation, House Bill 255, 234 and 3989
These are incredibly repressive bills, and would have utterly NO effect whatsoever on criminal shooters, and thus are pointless. Any legislator who votes for them will hopefully be roasted over hot coals in the next election. It's particularly appalling that these bills will be heard, while bills li...

Re: SB 88- Making red light camera tickets illegal
Just as a data point, I know of some cities with red light cameras that "tweaked" their yellow lights from, say, 5 seconds to 4 seconds, creating X% more red light tickets and X% more revenue.

Re: Houston TX: another day and another horrific murder/robbery here.
The in-laws of somebody I know were shot in a brutal home invasion in Houston a few days ago. They were both 69, sitting peacefully in their living room watching TV. Somebody crashed through the front door, shot the couple and ran off with whatever he could snatch up and drove off in their car. The ...

How would an 06/07 violation actually happen?
I was just trying to visualize how a violation would actually happen - that is, the Class C Misdemeanor of carrying past a sign. I'm thinking of 3 different possible scenarios. 1. The property owner in some manner recognizes that you're carrying, and asks you to leave. So you leave. But then what? W...

Re: Fix 30.06 & 30.07 Sign Requirements
How can I, as a property owner argue that you have harmed my right to enjoy my property by carrying a gun, by being a Christian, by believe in Hitlery, or anything else, when these things are not even apparent? Because "harming your right to enjoy your property" isn't a prerequisite for b...

Re: Fix 30.06 & 30.07 Sign Requirements
Our rights extend only as far as the door of someone else's business/property. This is pretty much the bottom line, all the speeches notwithstanding. That business is their private property, just like their living room, and they can make any rules they want to. If they so desired, they could put up...

They have a lot of stuff to do, other than just pass or kill gun bills Yeah, this is something a lot of people lose sight of. Skim through this list of filed House bills. Note the topics. http://www.legis.state.tx.us/Reports/Report.aspx?LegSess=85R&ID=housefiled We're just a drop in the bucket....

Re: Reciprocity and signage if 375/1911 passes???
According to the press release for HB1911, a new sign called 30.08 would be created to prevent carry by unlicensed persons. This sign would apply to unlicensed open carry and concealed carry, but would not apply to persons with an LTC. A couple of things jump out at me from this: - So businesses wa...

Reciprocity and signage if 375/1911 passes???
All kinds of what-if questions arise from these bills. So if unlicensed carry becomes legal, what will be the new signage requirements for businesses that don't want to permit concealed and/or open carry? The current 06/07 signage will be obsolete (again...). They won't be happy about it, for sure, ...

Kory Watkins up in a moment. That will be about as much as I can take. I'm sure I'll be able to shut off the live stream then. He just used the old 2nd amendment line. You can't restrict something we have a constitutional right to do, etc. One erroneous claim that being frequently made is that it r...
