I think they're either custom Springfield or Para 1911's.
At one I believe they issued Browning Hi-powers customized by Novaks.

Re: Which weapon type is affected least by the cold?
I used to shoot a hi-power in IPSC matches in Canada & I had no reliability
issues. I used Rem-oil for lube. Many people with no lube at all in the winter.

Re: Well I did it,,,I have converted to Glock
yes, I went over to the dark side and invested in Combat Tupperware (TM) as well
:-)
Its no hi-power or 1911, but there's just something about a Glock :-)

Re: What Wrong With Series 80 Pistols?
I think some want to remain true to the original design and others who feel you cannot tune
a Series 80 trigger as well as a Series 70. I don't know how big a deal it really is.

Re: New CHL holder
I'm glad to see someone else chose a g17c for carry :-)When I carry my G17C in my fobus OWB it leans out because I have a regular belt.
As for a belt, I will be using a heavy gatorskin belt my lovely bride bought me
at Cavenders.

I'd suggest a case gauge as well - to make sure your loaded rounds meet size specs.

Re: New Guy Need Help-What went wrong
no answers here, but some more questions: # did you use a scale to adjust the powder charge being thrown by the Dillon powder measure? # I agree with a previous poster than 5.5gr of titegroup seems high. Where did the data come from? The Hodgdon online data shows a max of 4.7 for 200gr jacketed bull...

Re: Defensive shotguns: What do you have?
An old beat up Winchester Defender.. I used to have one - great gun. I don't think you could go wrong with any modern pump or semi in good condition. I think in the past it was felt autos weren't reliable enough for defensive use, but I don't think that's the case anymore. While typical police issu...

I think I had a different model, but I used to have a tumbler from Midway that I basically wore out after a few years. The tumbler in the picture you posted looks similar (but not identical) to the one I had. I replaced it with a Dillon: http://www.dillonprecision.com/#/content/p/9/catid/8/pid/23659...

Re: holster recommendations for Kimber Pro Carry
when my CHL arrives I'll be carrying a Kimber compact aluminum (4" barrel). I'm not sure how that compares with the Pro Carry, but I think I'm going to order a Macdaniel II from Andrews custom leather to carry it in: http://www.andrewsleather.com/ I searched for a tuckable holster, but didn't s...

eye color
hi, I'm just filling out my application form (after reviewing the checklist forum). I've always been told I have hazel colored eyes, so I checked that on my form - then I noticed on my driver's license it say "BRWN". What do I do now? (I'm a guy - I can't tell the difference between hazel ...

Re: Carrying a Colt Defender ??
Secondly, and I have no military experience to base this on, hasn't condition 3 always been the designated method of carry for the military? Was this because the military didn't have enough faith in its recruits or was it deemed fast enough in combat? I believe that's correct. And I think that's th...

Re: tuckable vs not
thanks for the info ya'll.
I hear nothing but good things about the C-Tac, but man it looks unconfortable.
I guess I like my holsters made from leather & my guns made from steel :-)
