Re: What is a "tract" for purposes of the 10-acre rule?
I would recommend NOT cutting your tracts of land into anything smaller then what you already have. The Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 232 prohibits the subdivision of land into tracts of 10 acres or less that is outside municipal city limits without the platting of the property. Platting the ...

Re: Kahr P9
I have a K9 and love it. The ergonomics are fantastic and it is extreamly well balanced. If you are in the Austin area and want to take it for a test spin, I can make myself available most of the time. Also, my wife wants me to thin my heard of pistols if I want to buy another riffle. So this one is...

Armed good Samaritan stopped Hike-and-Bike trail sex assault, affidavit says

I am surprised that they reported the details of the Good Samaritan. I am glad he was there and was prepared. From the police press conference, the police said that the victim got up and came between the Good Samaritan and the perpetrator. The perpetrator then ran.

I do not have any personal experience with this business or its owner (that I remember), but I have trained with the International Krav Maga Federation (IKMF) for about 6 years in the Austin area. It is my understanding that this gym/studio is affiliated with the IKMF. The IKMF has a structured curr...

Re: What Do Texas Rangers Carry?
A few years ago I was having lunch with my daughter at Whataburger. In the restaurant were two Cedar Park PD officers. Nobody paid any attention to them. After a while, three Rangers walked in and every head turned. I noticed the nice leather rigs (matching holster, belt, mag carrier), starched whit...

Re: New custom gun leather from RD Warren
I bought one of his holsters, same design, slightly different colors. On mine, he hollowed out the backing of the first layer of leather to accommodate the backing of the concho. This should help with the holster wear on my 1911.
Superb construction indeed. I have been pleased with it.

Re: Almost pulled my gun at HEB.
So about 12 yrs ago, my wife and I were getting dinner. We came out of the restaurant to go home. I unlocked our minivan with the key, get in and try to start the vehicle. It did not start. I began cussing, then noticed that the van was quite a bit messier than I remembered. We both look around and ...

Re: Texas State Capitol
Sounds lik it's easier to carry at the capitol, than Hays Co Government building. Went there the other day and they made me wait 10 minutes while they "ran" my ltc and then proceeded to follow me to the tax office, wait outside for me to leave, and then followed me to the door. Kind of ri...

Re: DPS/Drivers License Office - Carry Allowed?
When I took my daughter to get her driver's permit last year, I used my CHL as an ID. After the clerk saw it, he said it was great that I had one. He said that he carries every day and asked if I carried everyday too. I showed him pictures of my Bear Creek pocket holster (a work of art). We then had...

Re: Haganah Houston
I have not had experience that that particular place, but I have had some experience in F.I.G.H.T. and Krav Maga in the Austin area. If you are asking if the fighting system is a valid system, then I would say yes. What I have seen, the FIGHT system is very effective. It is not a showy system. It is...
