Re: Recommend A Good Cleaning Gun Spray!

I use CRC Electric Contact cleaner for all gun related decreasing work, then CLP as a lubricant. For actual cleaning, as in removing fouling, I use Butch's Bore Shine. I use the electric contact cleaner in place of Gun Scrubber, just because it's cheaper, have used gunscrubber before and it is a goo...

Re: Recommend me a hunting rifle scope

All I can say is don't get a target scope. I made the mistake of putting a 6 x 18 Burris fine plex target scope on my Model 70 30.06 for hunting. Scope is great, but the fine plex is extremely difficult to see at night when spotlighting ( hogs not deer). I never considered night hunting when I bough...

Re: Too many guns?

I would not store the cases in the safe, waste of valuable space. Just start stacking them in a closet (the cases). Not sure if this is for you, but I have found you can stack handguns like cordwood on your gunsafe shelves if you just put a piece of cardboard in between. I started doing this with th...

Nope, it's a 16" barrel with a pistol length gas system, never jams or fails to feed.

Re: 300 Blk for self-defense subsonic loads needed

I've shot a few deer with the Lehigh 194's in Handloads ( all shots around 50 yards, heart/lung), and witnessed another. They definitely expand as advertised at subsonic velocities. 3 out of 4 of the deer we shot, we were able to recover the projectile in the rib cage, or under the skin on the oppos...

Re: ANYONE RELOADING .300 BLACKOUT ?

[/quote] I reload subs only. 10 grains of AA1680 with CCI Small rifle primers and a 220 grain Sierra Matchking, that one chronographs at 950-975 out of my 16" AR. For hunting, I use the same primer and charge, only the bullet is a Lehigh Defense 194 grain maximum expansion, that load chronograp...

Only place i've seen both posted was a valero gas station in San Marcos, I see lots of 30.07, just saw one at Cheddars in Austin the other day. But seeing both posted together, I have not seen very often.

Re: Going back to reloading .38 after 25 years off

Thanks for the input guys. Since posting this I found 1/2 pound of Bullseye left over from the 90's in my reloading supplies. It smelled and looked ok, so i'm going to load up some ammo with it. After that I may switch to Titegroup, suggested by Beiruty, I was reading some reviews on it and it appea...

Going back to reloading .38 after 25 years off

So my daughter got a .38, and asked me to reload for her. I've got the dies and all, but the last time I loaded .38 I was using bullseye powder and cast bullets. What is the latest and greatest for easy metering light .38 loads, powder wise? Looking to load very light loads with 125 grain bullets. H...

Re: Hillary found to be extrememly careless, but not criminal

Two things. 1. It's obvious TAM knows how to type and I don't. 2. I hope TAM is wrong ( about the election part), but I fear he will be right. I listened to the Comey deal live, I was so dejected I was worthless the rest of the day. I apologize to my unnamed employer. I have submitted a vacation req...

Re: Truck stolen, whats in your truck?

Sorry to hear about your truck. Glad to hear you did not loose any guns. I always take my .30 carbine into my my room ( in a guitar case) and I always pull the fuse/relay to the fuel pump when I stay overnight at a hotel. Call me paranoid if you want, but if someone is going to steal my truck, it's ...
