Re: Another CHL school question...

Good post and question. I was not aware that school districts were exempt from this. As a follow on, I as a CHL holder and non employee of a school district can have my carry locked in my vehicle when on school property and be legal? I was under the beliefe that this was ok as long as I amnot in a b...

Re: .380 ammo

In small quantities I use Acadamy Sports. If I am buying in bulk you can check out good to go ammo. They can be found at http://www.goodtogoammo.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; They are in Plano and you can stop by and pick up to avoid shipping charges.

Re: CHL eligibility question

Have you ever purchased a handgun while living in Texas or had a background check filed? If you have and received a green light that would tell me there is nothing on your record for this offense. Getting a copy of your record from teh jurisdiction where the offense occured is the first step from he...

Re: If you could buy one pistol....

I went with a Beratta 96 Inox. Picked it up for $375 at a pawnshop in Burleson over the weekend. Can't wait to shoot it.

(sorry for the camera phone pic)

Re: If you could buy one pistol....

Well this question brings out the dreamer/collector in me. So with that said and knowing I already have several great shooters both semi-auto and a revolver I would have to say I would go for a Beretta Billenium or a Colt Python, both of which are hard to find and out of my reach financially right n...

Re: Any experience with 1911's in 9mm?

Wives, Girlfriends, and what we tell them could be a totally different thread. I always fall into the category of its easier to ask for forgiveness than permission, not that I need either. I've never had to even explain why but for some reason that's the way it happens. I have my 7 hand guns and she...

Shooting in Dallas

Here is a link to a news story about a Landlord who shot a tennant he was trying to evict. Thats pretty much all the story offers, but why was this guy evicting the tennant himself? Fortunately I've never been evicted but wouldn't that fall into the hands of a Sherrif just for this reason? I don't k...

Re: Trusted Gunsmiths in DFW area??

Good to hear Andrew is doing some good work. It seems if you are dealing with shotguns he is great. If you have something other than a shotgun or are not interested in his custom fitting work your wait time just may be a bit longer. PM me for details on my experience with him if your interested. On ...

Re: Bud's Gunshop Question

Good information to have. I guess if I get a real good price I can live with delayed shipping. Good to know going in though, I'd be a little antsy too after a week with no activity. On the flip side I recently read where Buds does have good customer servine and helped a guy out with a full refund on...

Re: Fort Worth Gun Show: Questions

I think you have it all answered here. I always lock my carry gun up in the trunk when I go to the show. I don't see any sense carrying a gun with zip ties through the slide anyway. You can find some deals there, they are vendor specific. Some want to move merchandise and some are sticking to the bo...

Re: SHOOTSMART Ft. Worth

This is a good place to shoot. Unfortunately its not all that convienient tothe house. I have been there 3 or 4 time though and enjoyed the experience. All that has been said is accurate. Clean, friendly staff and it can get busy sometimes so if you are there in prime time expect a wait. Does anyone...

Re: LC9 broke after 150 rounds

Glad to hear the CS people at Ruger treated you well. I had an LC9 that had issues with light strikes and FTF's when I got it. I sent it back on their dime and they fixed it up. When I got it back I fired 100 rounds with no failures and sold it. I guess there is something to be said about buying a g...
