Re: The future of gun rights
You are correct to be concerned. The NRA is our best ally in fighting back those who seek to rob us of the means to defend ourselves from bad guys and would-be tyrants. Every gun owner should be an NRA member, in my opinion.

Soccerdad:
Your wife and her friend are trusting your judgment. She could very likely have a severe adverse reaction to firing a 12-gauge shotgun for the first time. I suggest you let her try a 20-gauge if you have one. Then, talk her into selling the 12-gauge and buying a 20-gauge. Just my $0.02

Re: WTB: Glock 19 (G19), Gen 4 (or Gen3)
Glockmeister.com has pretty good prices and a great selection. G19 Gen3 for $499. G19 Gen4 for $539. G19 Gen4 MOS for $599. Free shipping. I bought a MOS recently and mounted a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro reflex (red dot) sight on it. Kinda pricey but I really like it.

Re: Which pistol red dot system should I buy and why?
I got the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro 2.5MOA for my Glock 19 MOS and I love it. I read dozens of reviews for a bunch of different brands. I narrowed my choices to only those models that will allow a battery change without removing the RDS from the pistol and decided on the Leupold. I paid $352 from OP af...

Re: What should I do?
I guess it depends on how much retention you're looking for. DeSantis offers several holsters for the .45 Shield. Personally, I like the Mini Scabbard belt holster. Amount of retention is adjustable by a tension screw.

Re: MPA Fact Check
Yeah, but we don't really care about federal regulations here in Texas, do we?As described, it would appear that the juvenile's conduct does not meet any of the exceptions under 922(x).

MPA Fact Check
A young man I know who attends our church (I think he's 17), showed me a photo of his new Glock that his dad bought for him recently. I asked if he planned to carry it in his truck and he looked at me inquisitively, so I talked to him about the Texas Motorist Protection Act. I told him that the hand...

Just curious oohrah...why do you consider not allowing LTCs to carry in these zones as "pretty reasonable"?

Re: I need to be stopped........
I bought a Springfield Loaded 1911-A1 back in 2009 (full-size lightweight bi-tone with night sights). At the time, I was wanting a Kimber CDP but couldn't find one, and the wait time was around six months. I really like my Springfield but don't carry it because of the 7-round capacity magazine. My S...
