Re: Need a new Bank..
I prefer to deal with a local bank and people I know. I have dealt with small town banks and people I know for too long to change now. I too prefer to walk in and do business as my hearing has regressed to the point I do not hear well in drive in's both banks and food establishments. We have family ...

Re: Church Resiprocity Question
I am going to suggest to our Methodist Church Official Board that we vote to allow you good Baptists to carry in our churches if you bring a covered dish with you to throw in for the dinner in fellowship hall after services. I don't know what we need to bring when we visit your houses of worship?

Re: HB2823 Introduced. Prohibit physician questions re firea
I don't think this bill is going to make much difference. BUT I am sure I do not want health care workers asking about my or anyone else's guns. In January, I got a call from a Doctor's office and the "girl" asked me if I knew that my 90 year old mother kept a loaded shotgun by her bedside...

Re: Trooper contact east of commerce on sh 11
I do own Glocks, but usually not my daily companion. I think the discussion was when I told the officer I was carrying a commander length 1911. I think his beef with the Glock was that it was department mandated and he liked something else. He really was a nice guy and I really was caught 20 over.

Re: Trooper contact east of commerce on sh 11
I have a gun on me or beside me in the truck 98% of the time, but still think you should hand both to officer making stop. I have lots of friends and family who are LEOs in Texas and it is a courtesy. I had not been stopped in 10 or so years when recently I was caught over the speed limit and at fau...

Re: Hi-Point 9MM Carbine
I have owned a 9mm version of this for several years that I acquired in a trade--uglier than home made soap, but boy does my family like to shoot them. I can put a bunch of long guns on the table at the range and odds are that the 995 HiPoint will be picked up first and fired at steel targets as lon...

Re: Trick or Treat
I live in a quiet rural area--dead end road and not many younger children so I have not had trick or treaters in 17 years. My best memories are of when my now 40+ year old children were growing up in West Texas farm and ranch country. Sometimes your nearest neighbor was two miles away as the crow fl...

Re: Anyone own stock in SWHC or RGR?
I have stock in both and have for several years. I increased my investment in both a couple years ago and doubled this second investment and sold 1/2 of its value. Total time to increase was about 18 months. Never had another stock perform as well. I will maintain both in my portfolio. Of course I a...

Re: CHL and early voting
I early voted on the first day. At our local polling place there were several "little old ladies" most of whom I already knew and they called me by name. She asked for ID anyway and scanned it. I told her that it would not scan as most cards with magnetic strips from my billfold will not s...

Re: Range Scrap Smelting?
Warning!! this will develop into a very bad habit--I can testify to this. Usually got a ton of ingots in the shop and several tons of processed and "virgin" scrap in the barn. I do know that a 55 gallon drum of wheel weights can really strain my big skid loader (Bobcat) with forks on it. B...

Re: So I have this older powder ...
I still have some surplus WWII 4895 that is still good and very consistant in performance as in grouping. We bought this stuff bulk back in the 50' for $.50 a pound or so. I had a 30 # drum that we split up with reloading friends. I am loading with a pound can of 4350 right now that still has a pric...
