Re: Harris County Precint 5 Park - Bear Creek
Doesn't the newly passed H.R. 2028 (Law No. 114-254) cover CHL carry on ACOE land? I think I read that this will allow it... I don't see anything about firearms or concealed carry in the text. https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/2028/text The COE is mentioned 7 times and only wi...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?
Ok, I have a question about county property. I know a person who works at the Gregg county tax assessors office. This branch is on highway 80 in Longview. They have several county offices there like commissioners court and the vehicle registration office where this person works. There has been deba...

I am wondering, what Court Buildings in the State are not posted? Might be easier for folks to post Court Buildings that are not posted. Coryell and Bell County are. Even the Coryell and Bell County annex's are posted 30.06/30.07. Shoot even the Municipal building in Copperas Cove is posted. I have...

Re: Wal-Mart employee refused LTC as ID?
It should take less than 1 second to determine if someone is under 21 by checking their drivers license or ID card. >IF< the clerk is competent in basic mathematics. Many apparently are not. What mathematics are needed to see if the card is oriented horizontally or vertically? Take another look at ...

Re: American Airlines - checked baggage handgun
TSA takes personal responsibility for that bag with the gun. If someone steals it there will be heck to pay with TSA. It wouldn't look good for them to lose a gun by theft from an airliner they are charged to protect especially after taking custody of the bag. Tex How does TSA take custody of the b...

It's interesting that most of these contracts have clauses saying the leasing entity will follow all laws. I've seen it in the HLSR contracts. It would seem those statements would preclude the private entity from posting or enforcing 30.06/07.

Re: University of Houston - Releases Draft Campus Carry Policy
7 pages of off-limits locations is a minimum? I see what you did. You missed my instructions to scroll to the right. The list is of all university spaces. You have to scroll to the right to see which ones are off limits. They held pretty true to Labs and Children. Yes, I counted 134 buildings (or a...

Re: University of Houston - Releases Draft Campus Carry Policy
We got our Student and Staff Letter today from the UH Police Chief; Campus Carry starts Monday. I've attached a copy for your enjoyment. We are in summer session now, so the impact to the fetal-position whiners should be minimal. Here is a current link to the Off-Limits locations (remember to scrol...

I still don't understand that rationale since universities can no choose whether to post sporting events or not. As of 8/1, it's no longer explicitly off limits.TexasJohnBoy wrote:Collegiate sporting events... That was the rationale I thinkjb2012 wrote:our rec center will not be posted (as of yet)

Re: Sam Houston State Campus Carry
Well, I'm pretty happy to see that my alma mater SHSU has actually enacted a fairly small list of unauthorized carry places on campus. Some of the places were already prohibited by law, anyway. From what I have seen, SHSU, Tarelton, Sul Ross, and others, had very few areas, prohibited. All of the A...

Scary. Curious about the previous 5 minutes. This is what he posted on Reddit. Almsot a mile down the same road i was zooming down comfortably when i spied at the next intersection a large pickup progresssing at a rate of speed that was reckless based on proximity to the red loght he was approachin...

Do not pack loaded mags inside the box if flying AA. The TSA doesn't care, but American will confiscate your ammo unless it is in a plastic or cardboard box with slots for the individual rounds. Don't ask me how I know... :banghead: I didn't check back to see where someone mentioned that above, so ...

Re: TAA lease asking for LTC?
A friend of mine at work currently rents an apartment, and he's up to renew. He told me this morning that he noticed a new sheet in the TAA lease asking for a copy of your LTC if you've got one. This seems mighty odd to me, and I haven't seen the paperwork yet. But, it made me wonder, what are the ...

Re: LTC holder exempt from FBI Background check?
Thanks again for everyone's input. The advice I like best is find another gun store. Unfortunately I really like this store because it has a great website and a store front in Coppell, TX that I can pick up my purchases without having to do a transfer through a FFL. Grabagun? As far as NICS checks ...
