Re: HPB Response To My Email
I suspect that I, too, will receive a form letter response, but still feel compelled to write about this issue. I was disheartened to see Half Price Books decide to post the 30.06 signs preventing concealed carry of firearms used by licensed, law abiding citizens for self defense of themselves and ...

Re: Open Carry question
It is my personal honest belief that since all undefined words in the Penal Code are given their plainly understood meaning unless specifically indicated otherwise, that a "belt holster" is plainly a "belt holster" by manufacture; to wit, a reasonable person can read "belt ...

Continuing Benefit to Utah License?
DW has a valid Texas CHL and added a Utah non-resident license years ago when it provided a lot of benefits. Her Texas CHL is still active, but the Utah is now up for renewal. Is there still a benefit to having it? The idea back then was: - Added several states of reciprocity (but I'm not sure how m...

Re: Planning Day Trip to Big Bend NP - Advice Welcome!
The trip is after school starts, doing planning now. (We homeschool, so we can go when places aren't as crowded.) I was purposefully vague on this to avoid broadcasting the exact dates we'll be away from home. :tiphat: According to the rangers, the typical weather will be highs of 80-85 (for the Los...

Re: Planning Day Trip to Big Bend NP - Advice Welcome!
I see no mention of a first aid kit. I would also want bug spray and sun block. Not sure about that area but along with whatever bug spray you use I would also get a real high Deet spray that is used on the shoes, socks, pants etc, to ward off ticks, chiggers, and anything else that might crawl up ...

Planning Day Trip to Big Bend NP - Advice Welcome!
We are planning a camping trip to Davis Mountains State Park and are hoping to take a day trip to hike one trail in BBNP. I believe we've settled on the Lost Mine Trail. Any advice or anecdotes of your own experience would be appreciated. More background: It will be my wife, 5 kids (8, 6, 5, 3, and ...

Sporting Clays at Flint Oak, Kansas
I've shot a lot of trap with 12 gauges, but never ventured into some of the other competitive events e.g. 5 stand skeet. That all changed this weekend when I got to try my first round of sporting clays in Flint Oak, Kansas. We were there for a family reunion and stayed in the lodge over the weekend....

Re: Church shooting Charleston SC
From tallying the recent national news headlines and social media feeds, it seems like evil flags are more responsible for this tragedy than evil guns. They quit talking about the evil person moments after he was caught. Let me echo that I was encouraged by the faith of those who spoke at the hearin...

I had the same first thought. It might be his temporary home, but it's the People's House.

Re: 10MM Advice
I've never shot one. Before the shortage a few years ago, I think the common wisdom was to shoot commonly available calibers because "they're always available, everybody stocks them, and during the apocalypse, they'll be the first ones restocked." I think that theory failed (or needs to be...
