SCOTUS on the Ballot this November.
It matters not who your preferred candidates are or were. What matters is, the next President and the Senate will be responsible for appointing one or more Supreme Court Justices. Get out and vote, encourage your friends to vote, for a President, and a Senate, who will protect and further our intere...

Re: Dewhurst/Cruz Debate
I was taken to the woodshed, and rightly so, for an emotional attack on Dewhurst in another post. There I learned Dewhurst has made significant behind the scene efforts on behalf of gun rights in Texas. I respect that and need him as the Lieutenant Governor, where he can continue to work on our goal...

Re: Summertime Cover Garment
Almost any loose fitting short sleeve shirt with a large, busy, pattern such as a plaid, checkered, or Hawaiian style print, all in bold or dark contrasting colors serves to camouflage any outline of the CC. While we are most concerned about printing, the public isn't. I'm not saying we shouldn't be...

Re: Schools, Churches, and CHLs
Thank you, Charles. It pays to ask! The fact that the university church is a school building caught me by surprise. Are you basing it on it being a building where the activity, no matter what type of activity, is sponsored by the educational institution by virtue of being on the university property?...

Schools, Churches, and CHLs
Let me set up some situations over which I have a question or two. You wish to attend a church service on a university campus. The church is a stand-alone building, not 30.06 posted, roads, parking lot, and sidewalk lead right up to the church door. Can you carry in that church? It would appear to m...

Re: Sorry TSRA, No Dewhurst for me.
Thank you, Charles. Please be sure, I never had any intention to demean what Dewhurst has done for Texas gun owners. That's all well and good. However, my problem is mainly the integrity issue during this campaign.

Sorry TSRA, No Dewhurst for me.
I am a Life Member of the Texas State Rifle Association. Our TSRA lobbyist is using the Bully Pulpit of our magazine, "The TSRA Sportsman," to push the candidacy of Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst in his bid to win the U.S. Senate seat. Cover photos and references to "Friendly David Dewhurst,...

Re: Accidentally Outed
I went into the little room today to tuck in my shirt and hike up my jeans. When I came out I walked passed a lady who asked me if that was a gun sticking out of my coat tails. I blushed  and confessed. I knew better than to lie to her :nono:. 'cause my lying stinks, the folks taught me bette...

Re: What would you do scenario
The suggested actions fall into basically two categories. Some would try to protect the officer and some would try to protect themselves. I believe either action is correct depending on the ability of the individual. Those that have served as LEOs or are LEOs have been trained to react to a threat t...

Re: Kimball art museum posted?
I was in the Kimbell for the Caravaggio exhibit right after the first of the year. There is a non-compliant (30.06) notice on the entrance (the "rear" entrance... the only one in use because the main entrance is closed for the expansion construction.) I had seen that sign before so, even ...

Re: Can you carry at????
I have always had a problem with the phrase "or leased by a government entity...," as this could easily mean, for example, a commerical building leased by the city for the purpose of serving a neighborhood with a tax office, or neighborhood center. I believe that portion of the phrase doe...

Re: Can you carry at????
Tac while I can understand that you don't want to be a test case, you would beat the rap but not the ride. The City owns the building it doesn't matter who the curator is or the non profit that runs the museum. the law clearly states that buildings owned or leased by a governmental entity makes 30:...

Re: Application of the law
On a practical level, I would guess a DA or Grand Jury might be more prone to accept your P.C.9.42 defense if you lived in an area were the was no rapid response law enforcement and we were talking about livestock, or a combine. But we are talking about a catalytic convertor! The smart guy is going ...
