Re: Senate Bill: ‘Must Retrofit’ Handgun with Smart Gun Tech

Once the police, military and groups like the DSS, Secret Service and Capitol Police have had a chance to work out the kinks in this over a few years......oh wait, they will be exempt. :mad5 I also don't like the thought that the government could potentially disable a firearm remotely....don't tell...

Re: City dwellers: "wealth-adjusted" community utopias comin

I'm not sure it has anything to do with O's long-term agenda, though. I suspect the D's opposed it because they finally realized they're trading away ALL Congress' power in exchange for a handful of pennies from Barry, and they'd much rather grab the power back. I'm not sure what McConnell, Boehner,...

Re: Police Shoot Unarmed Man Dillon Taylor

I'm no fan of cop-bashing, or cop-bashers themselves. However, feel free to bash those self-appointed "speakers" for cops, the unions and their leaders. Most of the time, they say the exact opposite of what their members believe.

Re: Glock 27 to 26 and Back

My G27 functions perfectly with a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel. No problems with ejection. It works equally well with a G32 (G23 size) stock barrel, but of course the .357 Sig is a necked down .40 so the extractors are the same. Is there a plus to the .357 Sig verses the .40? Aside from the &quo...

Re: Car burglaries = gun jackpot

Honestly, I rather doubt that most car burglars are even looking at the decals. What they're going to be looking for are cars parked in easily accessible, but not easily visible, places. Dark areas of nighttime parking lots, side lots not visible from the street, some driveways, etc. Their first goa...

Re: What would be your only center fire rifle?

There is nothing native to Texas that an AR15 will not kill, given proper bullet selection. (Nilgai are not native to Texas... but a 77 grain OTM between the eyes would do the trick) That is good enough for me. There's a couple other "non-native" species that can occasionally be found in ...

Re: What would be your only center fire rifle?

A 1903/A3 works for me as well. The venerable .30-06 has been putting game and men on and in the ground for over a hundred years now, and has lost none of its potency. Barring that, it'd be a Remington 700 BDL/LH, also in .30-06. But I don't have to have only one centerfire rifle, so I'll keep the o...

Re: Is requiring a permit to carry constitutional?

Short version: No, it is not, by the very text of the Second Amendment. Long version: It's the cards we're currently dealing with, and until we can drag our government back to its founding document, it's an unconstitutional rule we have to deal with. Re: Stealing packages from mailbox

I am a postal delivery man and deliver packages daily. I wouldn't even consider stealing someone's package. I don't believe most would. It would be problematic if packages always seemed to come up missing or empty on my route wouldn't it? We postal workers under go a very thorough background invest...

Re: Open Carry - License visible to the public as well

Honestly? Your identifier is the holstered pistol on your hip. It's not stuck into a waistband, "gangsta style." It's not in your hand, being pointed at people. It's in its holster, just the same as the cop's gun. We don't carry our law enforcement credentials on a lanyard around our necks...

Re: Why Don't LEOs use ruger SR9/SR9C?

I would imagine it probably has a lot to do with the magazine disconnect "safety." IIRC, all Ruger SR9/40/45 pistols have one, and frankly, that's a potential liability in a "cop gun." Anything that makes the gun not function when the officer needs it to function is A Bad Idea. T...

Re: Some questions prompted by the 84th session

Short version: if "compromise" sets you backwards on any of your goals and/or ideals, reject it. However, if it gets you half of what you want, instead of the whole thing, take it, then go for the other half next session. Never accept any compromise that sets you back, but consider each on...

Re: Stealing packages from mailbox

If it happened more than once, I would almost suspect a neighbor or neighbor's kid rather than a random person following the truck. Well, there is another constant - not that any federal employees would ever do anything illegal mind you... As several packages / letters we have sent to my in-laws ha...
