Re: TX: You don't pull your gun because someone eggs your car.
And once again that was caused by the unlawful pursuit, the illegal discharge of a firearm, reckless driving, and "deadly conduct" of the man pursuing them. All of the above are class A misdemeanors or felonies.

Re: New CHL Holder + Vehicle carry questions
It's what is put out in the instructor's course itself. There's nothing in the law defining "belt". According to the DPS instructors both belly band and ankle holsters which attach to your body by "belting" are lawful. One encircles your waist the other encircles your leg. OK, g...

Re: New CHL Holder + Vehicle carry questions
Ankle and belly band holsters are perfectly lawful, they fall under the category of "belt holster". The belt does not have to be around your waist. Please cite a legal source that says that it doesn't have to be attached to what is regularly defined as your belt at the waist The Texas Dep...

Re: New CHL Holder + Vehicle carry questions
You're both correct, I phrased it poorly. Let me restate it properly for clarification. As long as you are in the vehicle and have an LTC with the gun on your person it does not have to be concealed, we are an open carry state. Still not 100% correct. Must be carried in an approved openly carried m...

Great story, and a good reminder for all. Keep your wits about you and be aware of your surroundings at all times and even more so in public places where you are vulnerable such as highway rest stops.

Zero tolerance equals the loss of independent problem solving Zero Tolerance is the product of problem parents raising hell and filing lawsuits over their kids being "treated unfairly" ie not every kid getting the exact same punishment because teachers and administrators applied logic to ...

Also left the scene of the accident and failed to render aid. Didn’t say LTC. I thought that's only required if you're in a vehicle involved in a collision. https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/TN/htm/TN.550.htm Are they going to charge everybody who drove past without rendering aid? If the stor...

Re: New CHL Holder + Vehicle carry questions
Let's play "Devil's Advocate". What if you have the piece on a magnet below the dash, you are stopped by LEO and asked to get out of the vehicle. Are you going to move the weapon to your holster while the officer is watching? Are you going to leave it where it will be in plain sight once ...

Re: Woman calls 911....Get shot
Good to see MN step up and prosecute. However, I don't want him spending the next 10 to 20 years living off the taxpayers while in US prison. Strip him of US citizenship and send him back to Somalia. Yessir, works for me. This was disturbing when I parsed the various news reports. That can be done ...

If fail to do so you'll likely be arrested and charged with Obstruction. You "can" beat the charge, but you probably won't beat the ride. If they truly suspect you of committing a crime but lack real probable cause/RAS they will look or provoke you until they find one. I don't like bowing...

Re: New CHL Holder + Vehicle carry questions
You didn't ask but this is worth thinking about. My biggest problem with there magnets is it you're in an accident that involves a decent impact then your pistol is going to become a projectile in your vehicle. Your best option for under dash mounting will be to rig up a holster with retention. But...

Re: How can I confirm who owns property (private vs publicly owned)
A few minutes googling shows it's owned by a private NPO.
Carry at your own risk, at worst you get asked to leave if someone notices.
