Re: Bolting Down Safe
Redheads are pretty easy to drill in. Just use the right size bit for the size redhead. The installers bolted mine down when they delivered it, so I don't have personal experience with bolting a safe down, but back when I used to install machinery in my previous life I used redheads a lot. As long ...

Instructor Background Check - Long Wait?
Hello all, I was just wondering if there is a "typical" time frame for instructor applicants to wait between submitting everything and the completion of the background check/assignment to instructor class? I applied online at the end of January and got delayed when the CHL 90 forms went AW...

Re: Emails from Gun Owners Legal Defense Network
The one that is driving me to drink (short drive) is Tim Schmidt ...Concealed Carry Magazine. I get at least 1 a day from them. Sometimes multiples. Sometimes multiples of the same email. I do not subscribe to his magazine. :banghead: Don't even get me started about that guy. Half of me hates his m...

Re: A Funny Buffalo Wild Wings Sign
Back in January I heard about the policy (the location I used to go to was not posted) and emailed to see what the official stance was. The short story is that company owned stores have a no guns policy (which is implemented through signs that are not 30.06 compliant) and franchise owned locations s...

WTB - M&P 9mm 17 round magazines - DFW
Would like to buy a few 17 round magazines for a M&P 9mm. Wifey picked a lousy time to switch handguns... finding the new pistola was easy, but trying to find a few extra mags has been a bit of a goose chase. :cryin I travel between Dallas and Ft Worth every day, so I can meet pretty much anywhe...

Re: Ideas for "other" topics
I am not an instructor, so take it for what it's worth. But I find the best instructors are prepared to allow the class to go in the direction it wants, rather than presenting a rigid presentation. It is a lot harder on the instructor, since they have to be prepared to go in any direction, but the ...

Re: LEO Disarming Homeowner?
As for me and my house..... Feel free to knock on my door anytime. I may answer, I may not. If/when I do answer I will be armed (OWB in a holster at a min.) If the police or anyone else takes offense to that, they will be invited to leave my property. No disrespect to any LEO, but my gun in my hols...

Re: Good starting age?
As many others have said, I think a typical 13 year old can safely and effectively shoot a 9mm, even a little one like a nano. But I also agree that a small 9mm is not the ideal first boom/recoil experience. Starting with a .22 allows any new shooter to build a comfort level with the whole experienc...

Re: CHL Instructor Certification FRUSTRATION.
I know it will get sorted out at some point, but accepting money from new instructor applicants while at the same time not allowing them to move forward in the process (due to the non-availability of the application form) is pretty poor program administration. Seems like they would either (1) contin...

WTT 9MM M&P threaded barrel for 17-rnd mags
I have a brand new threaded barrel (½-28 pitch) with thread protector for a S&W M&P 9MM. I'd like to trade it for either 2 new 17-round magazines or 3 used ones.
Face to face DFW area.
Alternatively, I'm looking to buy new 9MM M&P 17-round mags :)

Re: Chris Kyle Memorial - Monday 1:PM@Cowboy Stadium
The memorial was really moving. Taps gets me every time.
I was proud to see the Patriot Guard out in force and also glad to see that so many people attended. I was also happy to see that WBC was irrelevant and ignored.

Re: 30 Round AR15/M16 Mags $19
It is taking them a long time to fill orders, but they seem to be doing everything they can to package and ship them as quick as possible. One nice thing is that they use their facebook page to provide updates about what order numbers they are shipping so people can get a rough idea of the timeline....

Re: Concealed Gun Survey
I carry an XD-45 in a Crossbreed Supertuck. I also carry a knife in my offhand front pocket. I would like to carry an extra magazine, but haven't been able to find a way to carry it yet that works for me. I used to carry one, but finally got tired of it poking me. Glove box has an extra magazine, su...
