51% Sign Posted, but TABC License calls for Blue Sign

There is a bar and grill not too far from where I live in a rural area. They have good food, and the wife and I like to go there a couple of times a month. I have CC or OC there every time I go. When I OC no one has said anything to me at all. The other day I was talking to a young friend who just t...

Re: New CC pistol for the wife

My wife carries the S&W LadySmith 642LS. It weighs 14.5 oz and she still has trouble with her hands hurting from the recoil after range work. Not a problem for self defense, but a box of shells hurts her hands pretty bad. She likes the light weight, but would never want to shoot 50 rounds on the...

Re: Texas businesses that ban guns should be liable if unarmed patrons are hurt, Dallas senator says

The problem with this law is that if you choose to go into a business that makes you disarm, then you assume all of the risks, etc. of your decision. You had the choice to not enter the business. If people took responsibility for their own actions instead of looking for someone to blame, we would n...

If you don't have any anitvirus on your phone, I suggest you install MalwareBytes. It's in the Google Play Store, and its free. No anti-malware can stop everything, but this one is pretty good.

Re: GAO Report on ATF Firearms Data Compliance

You know us FFL, NFA and LTC types must be serious criminals seeing how we are bending over backwards to obey the law. But don't worry, they aren't coming for our guns! All plans to disarm the subjects necessarily begin with the law abiding. That's the low-hanging fruit. I suspect the plans end the...

Re: National CHL Data

DPS provides very good crime stats and one of the major factors is the way they present it. The total crimes are those committed by people age 21 years and over. This makes it possible for me to do my analysis using total population numbers for people over age 21 years. Most researchers either don'...

Re: Political Capital-Prohibited Places vs Constitutional Carry

Unlicensed open-carry will not pass in 2017 and it may not even be filed. Open-carry groups will focus on NRA/TSRA bills and issues trying to once again take credit for bills that we passed last session and that we will pass in 2017. They did that at the end of 2015 and they will do so again in 201...

Re: National CHL Data

Not sure about the other states, but here's where you can find reports from TX DPS about LTC holders http://dps.texas.gov/rsd/chl/reports/demographics.htm http://dps.texas.gov/rsd/chl/reports/convrates.htm Thank you, but I have studied that data from the DPS pretty thoroughly. I have just never see...
