Re: TX: Sutherland Springs church 26 dead 20 injured in mass shooting
I’m not suprised in a town of less than 1000 no one was carrying in church. We don't know that for a fact or not. There could very well have been been dead bodies in the church with holstered guns. The murderer apparently started shooting through the side of the church building. If you get shot and...

Re: Driving to California, what gun to bring along?
Jeez, it's not Mexico or Iraq or something. You guys are being a little hyperbolic. Take a handgun with <=10 round mags, carry it in Arizona, New Mexico and whatever other states you pass through that recognize your LTC. Before you drive into California, unload it and put it in a locked case in your...

Re: Minimum Caliber for Instructor Proficiency
A .38 is actually .357” so I guess they let the 0.003” slide. .023" .38 (0.357”) - 9mm (0.354”) = 0.003” If the legal requirement is a bullet that actually measures at least .38" across, not just a cartridge with a number that's equal or greater than ".38" in the name, then you'...

Re: Paddock was in a gun free zone
TTAG got this story wrong. Their story has a screencap, which they say is from Mandalay Bay, but they offer no proof. IMO, it's because if they linked the source, then the story would be much less of a story. Search the web for "mandalay bay security policy" and one of the top results shou...

Re: Fl Non Resident permit
Short answer: Yes it has to be a Texas LTC for a transfer from a Texas FFL. Long answer: 18 USC 922(t) says (1) Beginning on the date that is 30 days after the Attorney General notifies licensees under section 103(d) of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act that the national instant criminal bac...

Re: DC: Fed Court of Appeals rules public carry of firearms a "core" right
It will be very cool to legally carry a concealed handgun on the DC metro from Virginia to the District and walk around the District. Carry by licensees on any public transportation in DC is prohibited, according to handgunlaw.us http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/dc.pdf That is incorrect, if you have...

Re: Las Vegas Mandalay Bay Active Shooter
What if he was abducted by persons unknown, because he had the room they needed. They set up the cameras so they knew exactly when to fake his suicide. Afterwards went into adjoining room and slipped out in first responders uniforms. This took a lot of planning, a lot of time. This wasn't luck. Som...

Re: Beretta Nano experience?
I had a couple for a few years. They worked just fine. My main complaints were the bore axis is a little high and the trigger reset was a little long.
The Glock 43 is a better gun in pretty much every area. But, they're about $200 more, so if cost is an issue then the Nano isn't a bad choice.

Re: Water vs Bullets?
I took the wife and hound dog out this afternoon for nice boat ride and while I was boating around I had the thought, " I wonder how what happens when bullets get wet". So what if you fall into the lake and you go under and you, your gun, gear everything gets soaked then you had to use yo...
