Re: RVing

I don't really expect problems; I've been told by seasoned campers that RV campgrounds are some of the safest ways to travel. However, I like my metal security blanket. lol Honestly, I've carried a gun for over ten years and have never needed it, but I also never needed flood insurance coverage unt...

Re: President Trump supports arming teachers; here's how West Texas has done it for years

Very good and encouraging article. Teachers are very divided on this issue. Just about every teacher on my campus has stated that they would like the option to carry; I do know some that say no-way-no-how-this-is-a-bad-idea. Teachers in the more liberal areas of the state are very against employees ...

Re: What are the gaps in your collection?

I would like an AR-15. I know this isn't a very popular thing to say on a board like this one, but I really don't have a lot of guns. "...a lot of guns..." is is a relative term. I don't have a "lot" of guns but I do have more than I can carry or shoot at any given time. ...

Re: Throwing rocks is more effective than just crawling under desks and waiting

I am in my 16th year in the classroom. When I taught junior high, I used to tell my students that, if we every had a shooter enter the classroom, that they had my full blessing to pick up desks, chairs, the projector or ANYTHING and throw it at the person. I really wish school marshalls were on ever...

Re: .45ACP is still my choice for handgun caliber

I prefer my .45, and I'm able to shoot it with more accuracy than my other guns; however, I usually end up carrying a .380 because that's what I can best conceal.

RVing

To those of you that travel by motorhome, travel trailer, fifth wheel, pop-up, etc., how do you secure any weapons while traveling? I'm thinking more in terms of needing to store it before going in a location that is posted or cannot otherwise enter, or if swimming nearby, etc. and you cannot wear it.

Re: My recent situation

Yikes! I have a 2000 model year F-250 diesel but it usually doesn't leave the Kerrville/Fredericksburg area. We've heard about lots of car thefts at La Canterra - isn't that the shopping area west of 1604 on I-10? Yes. In fact, this is where the Six Flags park is located where our truck was broken ...

Re: My recent situation

Our truck is the F-150. I know this isn't what the more dedicated campers use to tow, but our trailer is light and this is the truck/trailer combination we could afford. I'm curious about the fuses. How would I know which fuses to remove to keep the truck from starting? I'm wondering if this plus th...

My recent situation

We visited the beautiful Texas Hill Country over spring break. We stayed at a campground in our travel trailer, towed by our truck. We visited the Six Flags park, which is posted. You also go through a series of security checks. I left my handgun in the glove box and locked it. My husband got a noti...

Re: My Wife Now Has PTSD

Great story! I love the AR-15s. I, too, am very intimidated by guns with lots of recoil, and find the AR--15 is very easy to shoot. Holy smokes!! Welcome back, Venus Packs! Where have you been for the last 4 years? A mega-dose of "life." Lol! It's good to be back on the forum. Thanks for ...
