Re: Question for Charles

I"m not Charles but found this on the TFC website. Might be others since there seem to be quite a few duplicates. HB 255 (Anchia, D, F) Relating to the offense involving the carrying of handguns by license holders on the premises or property of certain recreational facilities. Impact: Creates a...

Re: Avenger Arms in Stafford

Then there's this one in Spring (they sell "guns and ammo"...) that has this sign.

Re: Avenger Arms in Stafford

Half Price Books or Whole Foods don't sell guns... Exactly. I thought someone might bring up the "dress code" issue. It doesn't bother me much when a business posts only 30.07, that's their preference, but when it's a gun store they are essentially fighting against our mutual cause. Eagle...

Re: Avenger Arms in Stafford

I did my NFA engraving through them last year, because they are cheap and do a good job. I never noticed the signs when I was there. I would be willing to bet that the signs were put up by the guy who manages the store. He is NOT the owner, although he likes to act like he is the owner (or at least...

Re: Washington DC

quick google search says no way http://gun.laws.com/state-gun-laws/district-of-columbia-gun-laws This does not apply to handguns, because the possession of handguns, unless registered, is illegal in D.C. Handguns in D.C. all require that they be registered before February 5, 1977. No handgun registr...

Re: Airport Law

I was away and didn't check this thread over the weekend. Yes, she has a LTC. And yes, the TSA did summon the local police who arrested her. Trying to find out the status of this now. Wonder if this part and/or this part happened or if either party was aware of the law under this section? (e-2) A p...

Re: Time Limit between class and paperwork submission

I don't want to take this off topic, but I have a question. Could a 20 year old take the class with his Birthday being two months away since the paper work is good for two years? from the DPS website's FAQ section 14. If I am 20 years old, can I take the proficiency class now and still get a licens...

Re: Time Limit between class and paperwork submission

I am not an instructor, however I know that the CHL-100 form is valid for two years. Once you submit an application to the state, the application is valid for one year (you have one year to submit all the required paperwork. :iagree: (and I am an instructor) found this older thread where Mr. Cotton...

Re: Trouble submitting CHL-8

So I believe I figured out my particular issue. My new scanner safes the files as *.PDF (capital letters) and apparently the DPS website only accepts *.pdf (lower case). I saved the file with lower case 'pdf' and it submitted just fine. (I only thought to try this because I test software as part of ...

CWTV - Arrow: Spectre of the Gun

I haven't seen any posts on this so figured I might be the only DC Comics fan on the forum... or the only one silly enough to admit it. If you're not familiar with the Arrow show it's basically a vigilante superhero who fights crime with archery, martial arts and technology. The tv show pulls in add...

Re: Licensed but don't carry? Why?

I know a few license holders that simply don't want to carry but do want the license for reciprocity and/or travel benefits (having a loaded, readily accessible handgun in the car).
