Re: cops with 1911s
Seminole PD is actually listed on Kimber's website somewhere as an issuing department. The Seminole police chief is an excellent marksman and also serves as armorer for both SPD and the SO. What can I say, I live/work in small towns and make friends with the local LEOs when I can.

Re: cops with 1911s
Two of the four departments in my county issue 1911s (Kimbers to be precise). Of the two that don't is our one man Constable's office (He carries his own personal Glock), and the second (a two man department) has the officers supply their own equipment.

Re: Mad? Confused? Thankful?
Something about these two deputies was not on the level, and they need some retraining. here's why I say this: 1: They felt you were a threat (actions and equipment), yet had no backup on scene prior to their approach. 2: Their overall demeanor as posted shows a disregard for the public image of the...

Re: Businesses should not be allowed to bar CHL!
I agree that a business should not prohibit CHLs from carrying, but at the same time I do agree they have that right. Its just like I think people shouldn't say some things and yet I agree that they do have the right to do so. As for legislative action I think we should encourage business owners to ...

Its not quite the way I remember it, but this is the thread I remember so my memory needs to get some exercise.

Re: Police stealing your ammo?
Actually I recall someone here posted they had a friend from out of state who had the same problem while visiting here in Texas, I think they were from Louisiana. This happened about 9 months to a year or so ago IIRC.

Re: any other Sigma shooters out there?
I used to own a Sigma SW40VE (pre-lock) and I simply borrowed a sight pusher from a gunsmith at a range to adjust it. The sigma trigger job can be accomplished by cutting a few coils off of a specific spring or by using a kit from wolf springs. I am reluctant to cut springs so I used the kit from wo...

Glad your daughter is ok, and the future grandchild too (congrats on that also). I will keep your family in our prayers as the stress from this won't be over for a while.

Re: Traffic Stop Backup
First off it all depends on the situation. I will also point out that my holster has no active retention so grappling with a suspect will not happen in my case as its a quick way to loose control of a weapon. Carrying where I do (IWB) and considering that grabbing an adult around the waist is the be...

Re: Door to door searches underway in D.C.
I wonder if we are only a few steps from where they will consider refusal as grounds for "probably cause" or such. If/when we get to that point they may need to check your home if no one answers because you may be laying in a pool of blood from where that evil gun killed you since you didn...

Re: Door to door searches underway in D.C.
I find this action to be VERY offensive, it even smells like a bit (read 99.9%) desperation. The gun ban has been struck down, but is allowed to continue while the Supreme Court hears the DC's appeal. Its kinda like a couple of kids saying "We better steal all the candy we can before they put t...

Re: AR - from scratch
G.A., where did you find parts that easy? I didn't know there was a place in Lubbock that carried loose parts. I've looked at Sharpshooters, and Fred's before with no luck. Last time I was in Lubbock, I went by Texas Tactical, but they were closed with a big sign on the door that said, "Closed...
