Re: Verizon theater Grand Prairie
According to Texas3006.com, the theater is now posted 51% and is legally off-limits for carrying. I guess there's a bar inside that has a red-sign license from the TABC, and that makes the entire building off-limits...?

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?
I saw on Texas3006.com that the Plano ISD administrative building is now posted. It's not a proper 30.06/30.07 sign, but rather one that states "Handguns Prohibited" and has the text of Section 46.03 (a)(1) in both English and Spanish. Is this building really off-limits by statute? Clearly...

OWB Holster w/o Belt For Springfield XD
I have a Springfield XD 3" Compact in 9mm, and I'm looking for an OWB holster that will work without a belt. I prefer leather to kydex, but I'm open to either one. The only one I've found so far is the Galco Speed Paddle. Do y'all have any other recommendations?

Re: BOMA Letter of 1995
Perhaps you could persuade the Greater Houston Retailers Association (GHRA) to share that letter with their members. That might help counteract what we're reading about in another thread - http://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=82511

Re: Houston Zoo Reinstalls No Guns Signs
When can we expect the DA to rule on these complaints and start issuing the fines? It's been nearly six months since the law went into effect and we began filing complaints, but I've yet to hear of a single one resulting in a fine.

Re: Are "split" signs legal???
Yes, I think you are trying to split hairs. If it came down to the sign you would be busted. Of course IANAL or LEO or DA, etc. :tiphat: (3) "Written communication" means: (A) a card or other document on which is written language identical to the following: "Pursuant to Section 30.06...

Re: Are "split" signs legal???
I've been wondering the same thing lately. Section 30.06 defines "written communication" as "a sign posted on the property that includes the language ... in both English and Spanish". A strict reading would mean that both the English and Spanish wording must be together on the sa...

Re: Texas3006.com Official Android App is now in the Play Store!
I'm on a Galaxy S4 GPE with the latest version of the app (1.0). This isn't a bug so much as a usability issue... I live in Plano. When I first open the app, it's zoomed in to my location and displays about 10 pins. If I do a search (eg. for "central"), the map zooms out to cover about hal...

Re: Strange new Walmart ammo policy attributed to Open Carry
I purchased two boxes of 9mm at a Walmart in Plano on Saturday. As usual, I had to pay for it at the register in the sporting goods section. I also paid for all of my groceries there so I could skip the lines at the front. I was not escorted out, nor have I ever been. I was also OC'ing that day; I g...

Re: Texas3006.com Android App in official beta
I'm also using the app and loving it! I haven't found any bugs yet, but I do have a few usability recommendations. I'll type them up and e-mail them to the team later this week.

I love my P938. Of those you listed, it's the only one that's 9mm and still small enough for comfortable pocket carry.

Re: UT Campus Carry - Surprise!!
I think college sporting events will still still be off limits. I took a closer look at the law, and I'm inclined to agree. SB 11 effectively negates Section 46.03 (a)(1) which generally prohibits concealed carry on college campuses. Section 46.035 (b)(2) prohibits concealed carry at college sporti...

Re: UT Campus Carry - Surprise!!
Regardless of S.B. 11, Texas law will continue to prohibit license holders from carrying handguns in certain on- campus locations. These include: ... • The premises where a high school, collegiate, or professional sporting event or interscholastic event is taking place. This would include UT athlet...
