Re: University of Texas dean quits school for job in Pennsylvania because of Lone Star state’s new policy allowing guns

There are plenty of sensible professors in many schools who are fine with firearms. I'm one of them. It just seems that when it comes to certain issues, the members of my guild tend to throw our whole approach toward knowledge out the window and turn untested hypotheses into iron-clad laws (academi...

It seems like a bit of a misrepresentation to me though that is just my opinion based on the following link which talks of him joining the University of Pennsylvania in July.: http://www.thedp.com/article/2016/02/new-design-dean Some can fool the young and willing journalists, but most of us season...

Only a San Francisco police officer would drive a Prius off duty.
I don't know, sounds like a great way to go undercover. ;-)

Re: Browning BuckMark?

It's been years, but I remember shooting one my friend owned. It was a pure pleasure with very little recoil. I remember it being well-balanced and a nice looking firearm. I think you are going to love your acquisition.

I am not a lawyer, but some quick research might help you get where you need to be. Re: Senior U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonin Scalia found dead

This is a sad state of affairs and the death of a great individual so I understand the concerns of all, yet I do not think I can stand much more conspiracy theory on a non-conspiracy theory forum. I can research and pm links to appropriately far-out sites if someone really wants to visit the wild si...

Re: Had an interesting experience yesterday

I am a little hazy on one item. You said she would not go inside, but was hiding behind the car, yet you went to see the police after leaving your firearm on the roof of the car? I know you would not leave her with access to a weapon under those circumstances of duress.

Re: Houston Zoo Reinstalls No Guns Signs

Thank you, Charles. I have been reading and trying to examine the stretch of logic that the Zoo has chosen to hang their hat on. I could not see anything to suggest that they are correct, but IANAL which is why I am glad you chimed in.

Thank you again.

Re: Houston Zoo Reinstalls No Guns Signs

If I am understanding correctly, section 46.03 of the penal code, which the zoo seems to be relying on, includes section 61.003 of the Texas Education Code for its definitions of educational facility. I do not seem to find the zoo on the list. ;-) Be careful. You can make an argument that the PC wo...

Re: Houston Zoo Reinstalls No Guns Signs

"Educational institution" is not defined in Texas statues. There is something close and it does not help the zoo. I've already written a bench brief on this subject. This is going to cost the Houston Zoo a lot of money. Chas. If I am understanding correctly, section 46.03 of the penal cod...

Re: Thoughts On Foreign Trained MD's

My former PCP was Russian; my current one is caucasian about 75 years old. My former cardiologist was Lebanese; my current one is caucasian and a dwarf. My nephrologist is jewish. They all are excellent for my individual needs from each one. The point should be researching for what they know related...
