Re: Woman Requesting Help with Carry Choices

I think you two are conducting the most organized and dispassionate pre purchasing exercises we've seen described on this Forum. An assessment spreadsheet is really impressive. I fully expect to see an RFP (Request for Proposal) next. It's the engineer in me, Excaliber ... yes, the next step ...

Re: Woman Requesting Help with Carry Choices

ChattyKat and others - here's what I have so far in my spreadsheet. It is not complete, and I do plan to add a column for my comments once I've handled the guns in question, but it's a start. I was using my Sig P250 subcompact as my "baseline", because I know it pretty well, but there's no...

Re: Share your recipes - cooking/food

This is a really good pesto, I picked up the recipe from a restaurant in Phoenix: T-Cook’s Basil Pesto (Scottsdale, AZ) Serves: 8 1 1/2 c canola oil 2 Tbsp lemon juice 2 Tbsp pine nuts, roasted 2 garlic cloves, peeled 8 oz (about 5 1/3 c) fresh basil salt & pepper to taste 2 oz (about ½ c) grate...

Re: First time to check weapon IAH

When I flew SWAir to Phoenix, the gate agent looked the case over and we were done. When I flew back, the TSA agent came over and walked me through it then ran everything through the scanner. Both SWA, different airports, I guess - but no big deal either way.

The smart crooks are in banking and government, not this stuff... although this seems to be the penultimate example of "bottom of the barrel."

You're right, my bad. I was thinking of a similar quote from Tennyson, but that one's definitely Kipling. Mea culpa. :tiphat:

Re: My Guns Are Pretty (And Safer Than Your Tattoos)

I have known several Democrats that were close friends of mine. For the most part we had very similar opinions of guns, abortion, personal rights and freedoms, as well as issues we agreed could go either way and be fine. Don't get me wrong, we didn't agree on everything. We however didn't hold thos...

Re: Wife robbed at gunpoint today- HEB in Friendswood

Another advantage of living in a small town; at HEB, if I have more than 2-3 bags and/or the baby with me, the bagger always offers to get someone to help. This HEB (I shop there at least twice a week), the folks always offer to do the same. I've always said no thank you, as I'm perfectly capable o...

Re: My Guns Are Pretty (And Safer Than Your Tattoos)

Feminist an about as outdated as unions. A lot of people think feminist want women to be equal to men but what they really want is for women to be superior to men. If they want equality for all peoples they would be call equalist I do not get, and frankly am offended, by his immutable connection be...
