Re: Big Bend area?
We went on a 3 day rafting tour thru Santa Helena canyon and had a great time, but this was several years ago, don't think I would do it now. Even then I was always constantly watching the banks and cliffs for BG's. It's really a shame because it was truly beautiful trip.

Re: Warning Shot
Legally, firing a warning shot is not a good idea. Specifically Public Endangerment, Discharging a firearm in City Limits, or any number of other charges. Realistically, if there is a need to draw your CW then there is the need to shoot to stop the threat. You may need all your rounds to stop that ...

Re: Warning Shot
All warning shots should be to center mass, or the head. Really not kidding there. If you feel the need to pull your weapon, it has to be because you understand that failure to do so will result in the death and serious injury of you, or an innocent third party. If you pull your weapon and fire a &...

Re: DPS Stop near Luling. Is this typical?
I know this is a older thread, but I got to reading it all and might be confused (not unusual  ) but you said you had to speedup to pass a couple of slow moving vehicles (I immediately thought 2 lane highway) and then said you were on I10. Why would you have to speed up to pass on the interstat...

Re: Trip to Heck ... I mean NJ/NY
Like you said, it is pretty country...once away from the madding crowd. We RV'd across northern California and up the Oregon coast a couple of years back. I felt quite vulnerable but we made it. You'll probably be all right. I guess I never really thought about it, we took the motorhome o...

The gas pump could be very interesting if you hose down the BG with fuel.

Re: Border Patrol Check Point Outside El Paso
Texas Parks and Wildlife Code: Sec. 12.104. RIGHT TO SEARCH AND INSPECT. (a) A game warden or other peace officer commissioned by the department may search a game bag, vehicle, vessel, or other receptacle if the game warden or peace officer has a reasonable, articulable suspicion that the game bag, ...

Re: Border Patrol Check Point Outside El Paso
...I guess the trouble I have is what right does a BP agent have to stop someone who is not at the border? If you have a problem with the reach of the BP, you'll really get your knickers in a knot if you ever experience the authority of a Fire Chief or a Game Warden. BTW, IANAL  Not sure a...

Re: Extent of 30.06 sign's reach
I would have to go with #1. Suppose a building in a strip mall has a 30.06 sign, surely it can't apply to the whole strip mall.(all the other buildings and parking lot)

Re: It was bank robbery, now Capital Murder!
I guess we have become a soft society, wouldn't want to violate a criminals civil rights.(they need to have their air conditioning, TV, ect.) It's probably a good thing I'm not in charge, I have zero tolerence for criminals. If they are guilty without a DOUBT (several witnesses-TV videoed them, I sa...
