Re: Alamodome and DCI?
I would place DCI in the same category of "professional" sports as a monster truck event. While it is technically an amateur competition, I dare you to say that to any of the corps there and see what kind of reaction you get :evil2: I marched Velvet Knights '93 "TooCoolVK :coolgleamA:...

Re: Ft Worth air show today
I agree...glass over body. That said, I just upgraded my Nikon D50 (an 8 year old body) with a D3200. My last air show pics here were with the D50. I have been playing with my 3200 and took it to a rodeo Friday, but they would not allow cameras. :( Just looked over your photos again. Superb!!! I we...

Re: Ft Worth air show today
Camera, lens? I am a cruddy amateur photographer, and always interested in gear..... Canon 350d with a Canon EF-L 100-400mm 4.5-5.4 ...and alot of picking my battles since the body is useless past iso400 and the frame rate is also sub par. It's a 7 year old consumer grade body with great glass in f...

Re: Anyone own a telescope?
I bought my wife a 4" newtonian years ago which we have since given to my sister. She took an astronomy class when we both attended Pepperdine and I would tag along to the observation trips up on top of Latigo Canyon. The professor had a 10" Schmidt-cassegrain and after looking through tha...

Ft Worth air show today
Got some OK pics of the airshow today. These are pre-shop but I'm pleased with the raw frame results. More importantly I got to take my oldest son, age 9, who has wanted to see the Blue Angels for quite some time now. Seeing the smile on my boys face and hearing him go on and on about how cool it wa...

Re: Another Semi-Quarterly Elm Fork Skeet Shoot?
Sunday's will not be doable for me at all because my daughter's softball season will have started by then and the games are always on Sundays and I'm the coach. Looking at my schedule and some of the dis-qualifiers here, I'm wondering what everyone would think about pushing it back to April 5? Base...

Same issue since I used to freelance a lot. Put in self employed or unemployed for the gaps between jobs. They're looking for an unbroken timeline.
