Re: In search for a good First Aid course
First... take a basic life saving class from a red cross certified instructor, including CPR and AED. Now that you have some of the fundamentals..... the hard part is finding a class tailored to the shooting community that goes into detail about treating penetrating wounds, including hands-on time ...

Re: MidwayUSA this season is horrible!
Usually, I do not have a lot of issues with MidwayUSA. However, Last Monday, I placed an order and a week later the order did not ship. I sent an email last wednesday and I got a response today stating they are sorry they hope it would ship today. It did not. MidwayUSA get your act together or you ...

Re: Stag 9 AR vs. Colt 6450
I'm once again thinking about buy a 9mm AR. I want to buy the best. I can buy a Hi Point for about a third of the cost of a Stag 9 or Colt 6450, but I have reservations about it, namely quality, dependability and ease of cleaning. Alright, there are quite a few 9mm type rifles (not all in AR config...

Re: Have You Installed A Reflex Sight On Your Pistol?
I use a Kydex OWB strong side hip holster for the FNX w/ RMR. Absolutely perfect fit. I see no reason not to use RMR for EDC. Makes it marginally more difficult to conceal but I have seen it done sucessfully. Do you keep it on all the time when carrying? How is battery life? Trijicon is tritium. No...

Re: Have You Installed A Reflex Sight On Your Pistol?
The FNX comes from the factory with the slide machined to accept an optic. No smithing required.
S&W & Glock also have models designed for mounting optics.

Re: Have You Installed A Reflex Sight On Your Pistol?
I have a Trijcon RMR on my FNH FX. 45 It's clearly not an EDC, it's a range / battle pistol. Target acquisition is rapid, both day and night. Much faster than obtaining normal sight picture / sight alignment. Easy to place repeatable hits on steel dueling tree at 50 yds. The full length bbl (5.3&quo...

Re: Authorities Respond to Report of ’20 Victim Shooting’ Incident in San Bernardino: Fire Dept.
Fox just ran the story that apparently the same Isis recruiter who was responsible for the two thugs that failed so brillantly in their attack in Garland is being hunted by the FBI for having also turned these two in San Bernadino. Reportedly this goat herder has fled the US. In yet another story, ...

Re: 1911 Issue Help
Go with some hotter and heavier ammo. 9mm factory loads can be too wimpy to cycle a 1911 slide - especially on a new gun or with new springs. I have found 128 grain Blazer Brass to be good ammo. OTOH, 115 PMC seems to be the weakest 9mm that I have tried to use. 115gr American Eagle was also on the...

Look. While there is no doubt that our "Great Leader" would like nothing more than to disarm law abiding citizens in order to maximize dependency on "Big Government", it is all kabuki theatre designed to make us take our eye off his real goal, that is to enable a nuclear weapons ...

Re: 1911 Issue Help
I have the same firearm. While not as bad as a Kimber, it did take about 100 rounds to break in and loosen up. If you are used to striker fired polymer pistols, as I was, it did seem like I was seeing an excessive amount of issues. The number of failures does taper off with usage, at least in my exp...
