Re: concealed in briefcase

My opinion in this case is worth at least twice what you're paying for it, and with that in mind I offer a double-your-money-back guarantee — I think carrying in a brief case could be considered similar to carrying in a purse. Leaving a weapon in an office, locked or not, might be a totally differen...

Re: Ever Heard of Feral Goats?

Cabrito !!

Seriously, they're probably pretty tough. But, so are feral hogs. Yet, after I run a large feral hog through a meat grinder it's not so tough after all.

Answer to question: I've heard of feral goats, although I've never run across any.

Four Sows Down w/ Suppressed 300 Blackout

Remember this thread from a half-dozen years ago titled Suppressor Build Success ? https://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=87&t=80252 The process of building a suppressor on a Form 1 was discussed at length. I made one, and I've been using it for hog hunting. It's working quite well. Of co...

Re: A few hogs down

Nice work. What optic is that? I'm trying to decide on a NV or Thermal Optic for hog hunting, but i'm nervous about spending that much money. I confess I splurged on the optic. It's an Trijicon IR Hunter 60mm thermal weapon sight. There's a discussion on thermal sights here if you want to read a fe...

A few hogs down

I had hoped to post some video, but apparently the SD card came loose in my DVR. I thought the DVR gave an alert when it didn't have a card, but in this case the card was there, just not fully inserted and I didn't get any warning. So, no video. DANG! I hunted a 'sort of' new spot over the recent we...

Re: Changing flash hider on a .223 Wylde?

When I read the word 'shims', I thought of the kind of shims used to align a door or window. I couldn't visualize how that would work. Instead, the 'shims' in this case are a set of washers with different thicknesses. You do temporary installs of the flash hider with a 'shim' until you find the one...

Re: Changing flash hider on a .223 Wylde?

I recently got my YHM Resonator out of jail. YHM recommends not using crush washers for their suppressor and includes some shims if you need them. Follow the manufacturer's directions. That's what I've heard also. Don't use crush washers if mounting a suppressor, only shims. Of course, I'm not an e...

https://i.imgur.com/0zp59MP.jpg Funny thing is, if you have one of the "smart" thermostats, your utility company can change it without you knowing. Thats just another reason I refuse to sell a Nest, Ecobee, or any other "smart" thermostat. You have to 'opt in' and allow them to ...

Re: Gun Grabbers not paying their fair share of taxes

So, according to this story, if your home appreciates in value, you should pay income tax on the increase every year?

If your investments decline in value, will the government pay you back for the "losses" ??

Re: Texas-Made Suppressors Exempt From NFA Regulations HB 957

Have had customers talking excitedly about it and hate to throw cold water on their enthusiasm, but I'm not touching that one with a 10 ft pole. See the Kansas examples and folks in at least one other state, Utah or South Dakota maybe? Apparently, and I don't understand the legalize, HB 957 has wor...

Re: Jeopardy contestant has been fired

Not fired, but other contestants apparently wrote a letter of protest.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news ... al-apology

At the end of the article another person is mentioned (unconnected to the Jeopardy game show) who was fired for something similar.

Surplus 303 Brit Ammo - Collector's Item

This is a box of surplus, old stock, 303 British ammo. It's in the original shipping box. Inside is a sealed tin containing nine packages of 32 rounds each, for a total of 288 rounds. This really isn't for shooting. The ammo is original, with corrosive primers. It's a collector's item for those part...
