Re: CC on county property during school activity

I think everyone is missing one vital point. The OP's daughter's school choir is participating in the event. That does not mean the school is sponsoring the event.

The law says we can't carry at a school sponsored event. Participation is not sponsorship.

Re: Out-of-state purchase question

Using an online store is a great alternative. A couple weeks ago I was in NM and fired several 9mm's. I decided on the Shield 9 and ordered it from Ky Gun Company. Price was awesome, $339 (credit card price) and had it shipped to my TX FFL. When I got home I had a new gun waiting for me to pick up.

Re: How Can We Do This?

Some good info on this thread and good links. Most drug smuggling vessels aren't registered in a country, making them stateless and subject to boarding at sea, yes kind of like driving car without a license plate. If a suspect vessel is registered, there is a complex process in place to obtain permi...

Re: Has Anyone Used Magguts Before?

Thanks for the replies guys! I think I will order 1 and give it a try. Looking at the S&W forum links I found a link to what seems to be a decent mag supplier. Right now they have the M&P Shield 9mm 8 round mags on sale for $18.99. Shipping is reasonable, $4.99 if less than 1 lb. http://gunm...

Re: Can you still get a CHL with an OTH under 21?

My opinion is no. OTH is Other Than Honorable, therefore I would not consider that to be Honorable. "Other Than Honorable or an OTH. This discharge is usually given after administrative separation board based most commonly for failure of a drug or alcohol urinalysis test, but also can be based ...

Re: Port of Galveston - Carrying

When getting on a cruise ship in Galveston you don't enter a regulated part of the port until you go inside the building and pass thru security. Think of it like at the airport prior to passing TSA. You are good to carry in your car and parking lot to drop someone off at the ship and in the many par...

Re: 9mm and 5.56mm - Whats your cost per round?

No experience with 5.56, but just loaded 500 9 mm today. Red Dot powder by the pound, Winchester primers by the 1000 and Berry bullets by the 1000. My cost per round is less than $.15. Am I correct that this is for material costs only, exclusive of labor and any equipment costs (e.g., depreciation)...

Midway 1292 Tumbler Recall-Great Service!

I bought a Midway 1292 tumbler in the mid 90's. It has worked flawlessly since new. Last week I discovered it was recalled in 1998 for a faulty motor and fire hazard. I contacted Midway and they confirmed mine was part of the recall. The recalled tumblers have a plastic base and no bar code inside t...

Re: Gen Petraeus joins with Mark Kelly & Gabby Giffords

As a retired Coast Guardsman, I am disappointed to see that my former Commandant, ADM Thad Allen, has also joined that group. He did some fantastic things for the Coast Guard and for New Orleans following Katrina but he has lost some respect for this.

Re: Texas3006.com Equivalent?

I use CCW app on android phone.Updates regularly and has an associate app, Posted, that is similar to Texas3006.com. Paid a couple of bucks for each about 3 years ago and was well worth it. Just returned from 3 week trip to ID and used it to refresh my short term memory each night I was in a differe...

I have a Stealth Gear IWB and love it! It has a nylon type material on the back instead of leather and stays cool on hot days.
