Re: TX: 2 West University UPS drivers robbed of their uniforms
UPS and FedEx also rent UHaul trucks to augment their fleet. I don't know if they make deliveries using the UHauls, but I believe they do. Yes, they routinely use them around here during peak times. (Temple area) I’ve also seen them use UHauls to deliver around Livingston Had UPS delivering package...

Pretty much all I ever use on the range and what I recommend to students who ask for recommendations. I've never had an issue.

Re: Lever-action pistol
I think there might be a distinction between "can" be fired with one hand vs the definition that says it's "designed" to be fired with one hand. Watched guys on the tv shot Top Shot a few years back firing AKs with one hand. Also agree with the couple of comments that it's not a ...

Re: Range Rental - North Fort Worth ??
Don't think I was beating anyone up with my inquiry... just asking if the instructors on the forum know of any ranges in Dallas that are friendly to outside instructors. Here in Houston there are some ranges that allow us to do the LTC qualifications and some that don't. What are LTC instructors in ...

Re: Range Rental - North Fort Worth ??
Resurrecting an old thread as I'm looking for a range in the Dallas area for LTC qualifications. Anyone know if Elm Fork still rents lanes to outside instructors? Any other places in the area that have popped up recently?

Re: Minimum Caliber for Handgun Proficiency Exam
Ummmm.............so when my CHL comes up for renewal, I won't have to take the usual half day class to renew? Joe Correct. in the LTC-16 on page 14, GC §411.185 says (in summary) - submit your renewal application - pay the fee (now only $40) - sign affidavit(s) saying you understand the current laws

Re: Minimum Caliber for Handgun Proficiency Exam
I would allow it. But remember, you are not allowed to use optics, red dots, lasers, etc. Only open sights. Has it always been this way? I have had a Shield 9mm with the green Crimson Trace laser for the past 8 months or so. It is my first laser equipped weapon. I cannot use it for my next renewal ...

Re: Recert class
In the Tuesday PM class they asked how many people had experience teaching online classes and 6-10 people raised their hands but that's only 1 of the requirements (2 if you include everyone in the room was an handgun instructor). The 3rd requirement (experience working with government entities) will...

Re: New LTC-100
I guess what I meant to ask was whether we had to re-distribute new LTC-100 docs to past students (those who have yet to apply for the LTC)... but guess I was reading too much into it.

Re: Year End Instructor Recertification?
I submitted my LTC Instructor's renewal application and supporting paperwork back in mid-June, but have yet to receive any information about the renewal classes in August/September. I logged into the DPS website to check the status of this application, but there are no options related to status vis...
