Re: Houston south quadrant breakfast

Y'all have fun & don't eat too much (yeah right ). I'll miss the camaraderie & the fellowship. But having a great new job at a great company with lots of good people isn't too bad of a trade off.

Re: NEW: Texas Clown Issue

The problem with "most of these clowns....", is which are just pranking and which will cause real harm? I am waiting for the day (soon I fear), that some real crazy person dresses as a clown, pulls a "prank" which will turn out to be a plot to seriously injure or even kill peopl...

Re: NEW: Texas Clown Issue

There is no "but he shot him in the leg" defense to prosecution or exception to the use of deadly force laws. If the situation qualifies as a use of deadly force to prevent death or great bodily injury in defense of self or others than it qualifies and you take whatever means necessary to ...

Re: 2017 Legislative Priorities

For all of the hooplah and grandstanding that happened for non-campus open carry passage, we've barely seen any open carriers. Enduring more of that for campus open carry is about as counterproductive as you can get - especially when there are still places that the most law-abiding segment of the po...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

Regardless of whether or not they've already been reported, you should go through the process and file a complaint if they are posting non-professional sporting events.

Re: Houston south quadrant breakfast

Once again, a great time with way too much great food! As much as I've enjoyed these monthly meet-ups, I'm likely to be absent for a while. I've just accepted a position in the marketing department of Primary Arms (which happens to be just down the road from Kelley's) and won't likely have any time ...

Re: School Playground Carry

Just be careful when you go, I went once with my kids a little before 6 one evening and there was an after school program with 4-5 kids playing. I figured that would easily qualify as school sponsored, so we just stick to the city parks where I know that carry is fine. The after school program at m...

Re: Glock 23 Holster suggestions for CC

First, you can carry a Glock IWB. But, as with ANY gun, you need to make doubly sure that all clothing and clothing bits are not in the way when holstering. By clothing bits, I mean zippers, strings, straps, flaps, etc. Second, consider the holster a part of the total system. The backbone of that sy...

Re: How Accurate is "Defense-Accurate"?

For off-hand, 5" at 15yds timed is pretty good. Some of the classes I've taken consider rapid shots within an 8" or 9" circle at 7-ish yards to be adequate. Others consider any hit in the center-mass area of a humanoid target to be effective. I try to train smaller than what I've lear...

Re: Houston south quadrant breakfast

Are we on for this Friday (9/2)? Or will we put it off a week for the Labor Day holiday? As things stand right now, I am a definite maybe if we do this Friday and a probably not if it's next.

Re: TFC Podcast Episodes

I wasn't aware of the TFC Podcast until seeing Charles' latest episode post. I've now listened to episodes 1 & 2 - highly recommended. So much great information and background, at least for a newcomer to Texas and LTC like me. Looking forward to listening to them all. I've listened to them all ...
