Re: Shotgun Advice

The problem now days is the availability of shotguns. Buds has zero Mossbergs and other known brands only have high end guns left. I purchased a couple Mossberg 500A Tactical cruisers in 12 gage maybe 8 years ago. Gave one to my SIL as Christmas gift. Paid maybe 250 each including tax. Perfect home...

Re: Duty to Provide LTC on Voluntary Identification to LEO?

I don’t post much these days, but enjoy learning from you fine folks. As I read this thread I kept reciting a mantra, “just because you can doesn’t mean you should.” Agreed. https://dfw.cbslocal.com/2020/07/11/2-texas-officers-killed-shootout-disturbance-call/ https://www.facebook.com/FOXBaltimore/...

Re: Shotgun Advice

I'm pretty ignorant on the affect, but would low recoil shells work for home defense? Maybe my thinking is wrong, but I would expect an intruder to turn and run, if the shot doesn't put him down. I used them when I took my wife to the range to get used to a 12 ga. I didn't want her to be turned off...

Re: OC Spray Doesn’t Always Work

Our Containment Team used this, albeit one with shock-bands. https://www.bobbarker.com/sirchie-reg-full-length-containment-shield.html A certain percentage of the population is immune to OC, and it is not adrenaline-mediated. Most experienced cops know you don't try the taser on a guy who's worked a...

Re: GA: "Jogger" chased and murdered

From a personal perspective, I have publicly stated that Biden will never be my president. He may become THE president, but everything that he stands for is so diametrically opposed to anything that I stand for, that on his very best day, he can never represent ANY of my interests, and will never d...

https://news.yahoo.com/judge-weigh-bond-father-son-060655083.html Judge weighs bond. Prosecutor reads racist texts from father and son. I don't like that they are using racist texts as an excuse to punish them before they have had a trial by refusing to set a bond. Being racist is not a crime in it...

Re: In Hard Usage Which is most reliable, lever-action or pump action?

Since the lever action has been around since 1866 and the pump action since just before the turn of the century and many of those guns are still going strong I'd say the jury is still out. Just in case anyone wants to get rid of their aged lever guns (especially Marlins) to update to the newer pump...

Re: In Hard Usage Which is most reliable, lever-action or pump action?

Lever actions have a magazine that is prone to damage in "hard use", but as long as your fasteners are place with thread-locker or something similar, it should not be a real issue. They were the first high-capacity assault rifles. Pumps, in rifle-calibers, are a bit more problem prone, rel...

Re: Corona Virus (COVID-19)( SARS-CoV-2) from China: Its going to be bad.

"Not-news." Concomitant heart conditions, diabetes, etc., and co-infection with influenza, pneumonia, etc., are correctly listed as "Covid" mortalities if the underlying condition(s) is stable, and/or the co-infection would have been unlikely to cause death at baseline. Both sid...

Re: Feds vs States?

Now I understand the reason for COVID. It has so many people scared to go vote that it set up a huge mail in ballot system to make voter fraud easier. "Never attribute to malice that which adequately explained by stupidity." -Hanlon's razor "Never let a good crisis go to waste."...

Re: Feds vs States?

I know States establish their own rules and governing system, the Federal Government make some rules the States have to abide by, here's my question, can the Federal Govt establish rules for National Elections that all States must abide by? Things such mail in ballots, fair and bipartisan observati...
