We had 2 shootings in Angelina County last week. One in Lufkin and the other a suicided attempt in Huntington Sonic. My grandson was told by DPS to leave shortly before the real trouble started.
There is no safe place to be anymore.

Re: Revolvers
I own quite a few but rarely take them out of the safe. That said, I do not feel it puts anyone at a disadvantage anymore than any other gun. I don't want the guy who regularly practices with any gun to shoot at me. Great to see you, my old friend! :tiphat: Yes and thank you for that. I saw the thr...

Re: Since Permitless Carry
Uncle Mikes?!?!! Just asking for trouble. I myself am very picky about holsters. Also just renewed my LTC I would much rather just have it then not. To much confusion and ambiguity with permitless carry. I thought there would be a number of folks try to get out and carry immediately after the Sept....

Re: Since Permitless Carry
For the record, Permitless carry went into law on 9/1/2021 and 2 days later I got my renewal letter. First stop after the mailbox was the computer and my new plastic has been in my wallet for over a week. Yes sir, That was my case too. Will expire 1-14-22. Renewed soon as I entered the 6 month wind...

Since Permitless Carry
Since permitless carry was evident that it was going to pass have any of you instructors seen a noticeable drop in class attendance???
I still encourage those who ask to keep, renew, go get the LTC. Too many advantages.

You might as well be making the same argument about seat belts. When did you give that freedom up? Driving a car is not a constitutionally protected right. Agree for sure. I will try to get in trouble again here. I was in seatbelts/motorcycle helmet Way before it became law and the argument/discuss...

Re: Mossberg 88
At present I am kinda in need of a scatter pistol. Over the last few years I have done some handEm downs to grandones and need to replace one. They are in pretty good shape so it is time for me to plug a couple O holes in the safe. Been on the lookout for dither 870 or Mossy.

Re: How much is too much?
I think that the mandate is being used as a test almost, to see how much people will stand for. And they are seeing more and more people up in arms (figuratively) about it. There are also a lot of people who agree that it is close to time to reform our government. A lot of them have started prepari...

I highly favor keeping it and spending it here. Texas is one of the few states that sends MORE to wishingten than they send back. Texas can stand alone w/o DC. Would "stand alone" also include reclaiming our "national waters" along the coast line? jd That answer is over my pay g...

I don't know. If you can't fix stupid then you can't fix a little stupid. Given time even little stupid grows into big stupid.

Longtooth, it was indeed a pleasure to meet you at the Mesquite, Tx TSRA gun show in the convention hall back in, what was it, 2011? That was the year that TSTA had their annual convention there. It was an honor to meet you, and thank you for the spiritual cassette tape you "loaned" me.......

I will still believe any evident means of self defense is a deterrent to crime.
