Re: 2023 Instructor Renewals

Background investigation showed complete last Friday. Got the material and test today. YGBKM! took all of 15 minutes and that included the time to PRINT their PP presentation, answer the questions, scan the answer sheet and email it back to them. Reminded them in the email that I had sent them my L...

Re: traffic stop and car vault or safe

Take this with a grain of salt. But I remember reading a story about a guy who refused to give his password for a search. If I remember correctly, it went through the courts until it was finally determined that he could not be forced to give that up. That would violate his fifth amendment rights. Wi...

Re: Back issues

Sorry to hear about your back. But to answer your question. I don’t see any issues with hiding your gun in your brace. Texas state law only states that if you open carry it must be in a holster. Other than that if concealed you can carry any way you see fit.

Curious. Did his opinion change after that?
Yeah. Quite quickly.

Re: Renewal qual

The reason I ask is that an instructor who will do my renewal says that since and because of Covid you only have to shoot the semi and no longer required to shoot revolver. Is that true? Tex Absolutely false. Instructors still required to qualify with a 90% score (225 points out of 250 possible poi...

Since there was no acknowledgement that they received the docs I sent them I was worried they lost something, but finally received my test August 16th. Test complete. Nice... I'm surprised you didn't get any notice on receiving the paperwork... I did... But I guess no matter since you got your test...

Re: Armed good Samaritan shoots suspect who allegedly knocked out elderly man in restaurant bathroom

Bravo also, but was it a legal use of a handgun? Doubt a DA in Centerville would prosecute or a jury would convict. What if it was in Austin, where it happened? Doesn’t say age of shooter or shootee? Based on the information in the article, I would say YES.. It was a legal use of deadly force. The ...

Re: Any rifle reloading people would would give me an hour?

Just as the title says.. I just got my (new to me) Lee turret press over the weekend. The guy I bought it from helped set it up and ran me through reloading some 9mm. I've spend the last month or so scouring websites, articles, etc. on reloading. So between the two I think I've got a pretty decent ...

My 3800 w dual fuel generator is enough to power our freezer, fridge, led lights. Dish network and router. I also have a portable room A/C unit that it can run as well. We keep enough fuel stocked to last at least a few weeks....
