Re: Battle of the Bulge--We Remember

My Dad was a radio operator in a 155mm Cannon (Long Tom) Battery and part of a Battalion. The were VIII Corp Artillery and were moved around usually to support attacks and advances. They had a big surprise when their First Sergeant came through waking them up and told them that the Germans had broke...

Re: In Memory of Pearl Harbor

I've got a photo I took about 20 years ago now of the oil sheen on the water at the Arizona Memorial, from the droplets of bunker fuel still being released from her fuel tanks.

They are referred to as the "Tears of the Arizona".

At a certain age, the reason for celebrating birthdays changes...

Thankfully, I'm sure you're far from that age!

Happy Birthday!!

Re: FBI Misreporting Data About Legal Gun Owners Stopping Active Shooters

I think that we can at least entertain to idea that the FBI is deliberately skewing or misrepresenting the data concerning armed citizens. IMO, that's due to an institutional bias against armed citizens and second Amendment rights. However, as stated, that's just my opinion.

Re: New Safe

I'm not, but getting a safe is a good idea, simply to make it harder for folks to get to your guns who should not be able to.

Searches are your friend, but make sure you really read about something before making up your mind.

Congratulations!

Re: NY Range Safety Officer Killed by Negligent Discharge During USPSA Competition

Very unfortunate. I don't think we'll see details on what transpired, but it would be useful for other clubs and those serving as RO's.

Wow.

That certainly didn't turn out as they had planned...

Wonder why this hasn't been all around the news?

Re: AMMO. Buying, selling or nothing

About the same as most here... sitting on the sidelines, keeping an eye on things. Between supply and price, I'm glad to have put up a reasonable amount of ammo in the past few years. I bought some ammo from an estate sale a couple of months ago and paid pre-Covid pricing, so it was reasonable. I sa...

Re: Anyone else stocking up on mags?

For the pistols that I use in competition, I've got ten each, so pretty good there, although you can never have too many... I went on a sort of tear when Comrade Obama got elected and then we had the Newtown tragedy... I bought AR mags ten at a time and simply put them in a footlocker type box. Taki...

The issues should be readily fixed - sometimes guns just need a little tuning.
That's pretty much what I was gonna say... You went big!

Re: Turning Texas Blue

As long as the election isn't a "blue wave", this should work to the detriment of these candidates, especially in GOP leaning districts.
