Re: Costs for instructors course?
The instructor's course is $100. Thanks much. Do you have to provide your own ammo? If so, how much? Steve Yes. Unless it's changed, you provide your own firearms, ammo, food, lodging, transportation, etc. Instructor candidates must qualify with both revolver and semiauto. Passing score is (was) 90%.

Re: Is this guy trying to go to jail?
A permanently attached flash hider or muzzle brake is included when measuring barrel length, iirc. However, if you're concerned, you can call the toll free "800" number in red at the bottom of the ad page to verify.

P.C.9.31(b) The use of force against another is not justified: (1) in response to verbal provocation alone; Assume that ability and opportunity are apparent, at what point would a person's words cross the line to being sufficient to justify force? If the use of force is not justified in response to...

If a 4½" barrel is long enough, you can get a SIG 220 with the DAK trigger.

Re: Austin NRA Basic Pistol
KR Training is a good choice in the Austin area. I did my NRA instructor certification with Karl (many moons ago) and have taken other classes taught or hosted by him (and Penny) over the years.

Re: CHL for a non-texas resident?

The easiest and least expensive thing for the Marine is to get a nonresident Texa...
