Re: Home Gun Choice

Since I'm going to be in and out during the day (self employed, office at home), I just buckle on whatever I'm going to be carrying that day when I get dressed in the morning. On the rare day when I'm not going to be going out, I'll stick a 642 in my back pocket.

Re: Eyes Wide Open

I noticed that, after mounting an Eotech sight on my AR, I was shooting with both eyes open; whereas with a rifle scope, it had been my habit to close my right eye (I am left hand/left eye dominant). So when I went back to shooting a scoped rifle, I tried shooting with both eyes open. It didn't work...

For me, it's a preference, and a hobby, and an interesting piece of history, etc., etc., etc., but it doesn't rise to the level of religion. God doesn't need a 1911 when He can point His finger and wipe out Sodom and Gomorrah.

Re: 1911's vs. other semi-automatics

thanks mark . sounds like it's kind of "old school" , which is cool at times. My problem with the 1911, is...(Puts on flak jacket) Unless you drop some serious Cash, alot of the guns out there are crap. Kimber makes a fine 1911, but they can run for 2k! When you can buy a Glock for 350-50...

Re: Non-CHL holders rights

This may sound like a strange question for a CHL forum where most of us already have a CHL or are waiting for one. But, what exactly are the carry rights of a non-CHL holder? You have the right to remain silent. If you give up that right, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court...

Re: 1911 Carry

In my search for more info, I keep running into a lot of small maintanence issue's to learn. Is there a good smith in the Ft Worth area or maybe a big book that you recomend? I believe that it would be important to learn more about the maint on these so that "in theory" I can keep it rock...

Re: Town Hall Meetings for Naught?

I am not worried about being complacent, I am more interested in what can be done to stop this. I have been in contact with the office stating my concerns etc... I don't believe that a Texas Senitor is going to vote for this but it is the other states that worry me. Obama seems to think that its in...

Chas.
Just curious... Is the Instructor's range qualification more stringent than for licensees?

Easy. DON'T become complacent. Remind everybody about how they'll be seeing people dragged off to jail in 5 years for not buying life insurance (congressional source - copy of letter proving it). Then VOTE, and do it with a vengeance.

Re: Great Wolf Lodge Grapevine, TX 30.06 Posted

I ate there (for the first time ever, and was singularly unimpressed) just last Thursday night, and I walked right on in and suffered through the food. Agreed. I don't get the whole chicken wing thing. Just my opinion though. [THREAD DRIFT] Me neither. We went there because my son often hangs out t...

Re: Todays Schools

First, let me start by saying that I am very impressed with the current crop of teenagers. For the most part, I find them industrious, willing to work hard to get ahead, and imaginative. Despite nearly 9 years now of an increasingly unpopular war on two fronts, they continue to enlist in the militar...

Re: Great Wolf Lodge Grapevine, TX 30.06 Posted

On a tangential question, I ate at Buffalo Wild Wings in Grapevine tonight and they don't have a 30.06 that I was able to see (or 51% sign either) but big white letters on the entry door that says something like "We BAN all firearms from our premises" or somesuch. Does that constitute pro...

Re: 7 killed at Ft Hood shooting

Okay, finally got to watch the Fox interview, Muslim his entire life. Also, very Americanized. I heard the interview of his cousin, and both the shooter and the cousin have lived here their entire lives. They are an American family who happen to be Muslim. The shooter is an Army psychiatrist (go fi...
