Yes, conflicts are always going to be a big thing. By shifting from Friday to Saturday, I hope we are able to avoid that one conflict that a lot of working folks have: bosses.TexasCajun wrote:You may want to factor in potential conflicts. It looks like we're finally going to be able to pull off a West Quadrant version of our monthly meet-up. I know it's a bit of a haul for some of you, but it would be good if some of y'all could join us on the west side for our inaugural breakfast. We'll be at Rudy's Country Store & Bar-B-Q at 21799 Katy Fwy, Katy, TX 77450. We'll do Saturday morning, 25 Feb this month, but if it works out, we might switch to a different regularly scheduled date (maybe every second saturday morning of the month?).

Re: Houston south quadrant breakfast
Good catch, Leo. We plan to meet at 8:30. Since it's not a work day, we can sleep in a bit later than we do for the 8am South Quadrant BreakfastLDB415 wrote:That's great. My wild idea was there would be a breakfast every week rotating around the quadrants of the city and that some of the other cities would get their own going as well. So for the questions. What time? That's probably the most important question. What does Rudy's have on their breakfast menu? Congratulations on getting it going. I hope it really takes off for you guys. Ours is a truly great time.

Gentlemen,
As always, it was an enjoyable breakfast with some really great folks. Hope all y'all have a great Thanksgiving. I'll miss next month, since I'll be out of country again.

Yes, entering this restaurant is one of the few times in my life that I can honestly advise someone to turn toward the 'left' to find the right answer.puma guy wrote:We meet at 8:30AM at Kelley's Country Cookin' Restaurant 2933 E Broadway in Pearland. Re: Houston south quadrant breakfast
Sorry I couldn't join in this time. I was on a plane from Indonesia to Singapore at the time, and I couldn't get them to swing by Hobby airport for a quick layover!
Next month is out as well. Same problem, different corner of the world. Hopefully I can join in again in November!

Thanks for the invite again, and for the kind words. Yes, daughters are indeed the best thing since sliced bread and peanut butter. (And TAM, I'm talking about Peter Pan, not Planter's Extra Crunchy). Next month's breakfast is looking open for me, so far. Hope to see all y'all there.LDB415 wrote:It was a great time as usual. It's now the morning of 6 March, and I'm still in Nigeria (third and final day!!). By the morning of 7 March (time zone shifts help out here), I'll be back in Houston, and could have attended.nightmare wrote:When I helped organize meetups for another group, we had much higher attendance when our schedule didn't conflict with typical working hours. Our original core group was graduate students so it wasn't a problem when we started but eventually we had to adjust the time to stay viable. Good luck!LDB415 wrote:Anyone interested in March 6, or is a forum breakfast an idea whose time has not yet come?
