Re: HB 1927 on the Senate floor now
Does this bill really change anything in regards to those who have their LTC? Or will that remain business as usual? Based on my analysis, we can no longer be prevented from carrying in government meetings covered by the open meetings act and we get the "belt and shoulder" restriction rem...

Re: HB 1927 on the Senate floor now
https://lrl.texas.gov/scanned/87ccrs/hb1927.pdf Committee report is available. It looks like all of the Senate amendments made it through unchanged with the notable exceptions of: Expungement added back in and cleaned up to only apply to violations of 46.02 as it was prior to September 1, 2021. Non...

Re: HB 1927 on the Senate floor now
Is there a place where we can read the amendments or does anyone know what they are? When they are available, they can be found here: https://capitol.texas.gov/BillLookup/Text.aspx?LegSess=87R&Bill=HB1927 The latest version is the one that the Senate passed, not the conference committee report....

Lt Gov Patrick's announcement: https://www.ltgov.texas.gov/2021/05/21/lt-gov-dan-patrick-announcement-of-hb-1927-agreement/ Patrick just had to throw in his crappola about how innocent they were of accusations of poison pills. Re: Permitless Carry in Texas
Renew it Anyone know if permitless carry will have TABC remove “blue signs”? Without a permit - could you still carry in Kroger’s Target Walmart Any place else that sells alcohol? Lots of reasons to keep your LTC as others have said Until we have the final version of the bill approved by both the H...

Re: HB 1927 on the Senate floor now
Any updates on this? As of today, there are only 7 bills that have had conference committees appointed for them. This includes the general appropriations bill and HB 1927. I very strongly believe that we will not see much external action on any of these bills until the last 5 days of the session wh...

Re: HB 1407 Passed
From the House Journal: "REPRESENTATIVE SCHAEFER: This bill would allow a person who has a handgun license, when they’re inside their vehicle, to secure their weapon in a holster inside the vehicle. Current law requires you to have it on your belt or your shoulder. But when you get inside your ...

Re: HB 1927 on the Senate floor now
No, and we won't likely hear much until the last few days of the session as the House is busy now working on Senate bills and the Senate is largely busy working on all the bills that have been passed by the House.RHenriksen wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 6:15 pm Any news of the conference committee's work on this bill?

Re: Did HB 1407 Die
Did HB 1407 die? It looked like it was moving along nicely and seems to have died at the 1 yard line. Made it through the house and then senate committee and onto the intent calendar. It didn't get the the general calendar and now has been dropped from the intent. Bill Summary: It has been noted th...

Re: HB 1927 on the Senate floor now
House refuses to concur with all of the Senate amendments. House has appointed conferees.
This is playing out exactly as I have predicted multiple times. Still plenty of time left in the session to get this over the finish line.
