Re: Austin Incident
If someone gets in my truck he had better get ready to meet the windshield or dashboard. An unrestrained person will FLY forward in an emergency stop at 30 miles per hour. If I can't do that, I will slam into a pole and put him through the windshield.

This is a good example of not talking to the Police until you have a Lawyer. The Lawyer could explain to him the law and he could fashion his story around that.

2022 NRA Houston Convention
Once again the NRA Convention is over Memorial Day week-end. I recall the last one that was cancelled was also over the Memorial Day weekend. I know they can't please everyone all the time but I will be out of town that weekend. I volunteered at the last one that was held in Houston and it was a gre...

Re: First Responder Instructor Certification Training Course
With so few Instructors that will be allowed to attend this course, it would seem they would take the best qualified. (I did not consider myself really qualified to teach some of the subject matter required) I would venture to guess that 90%+ Instructors are not really qualified either. We all know ...

Re: First Responder Instructor Certification Training Course
Just got the email from DPS that says the first class is full (12) and that all other applications will be put in order that they were received. IF they have another class they will contact you and for us not to call and ask.

Re: Stop the Bleed is a must for a anyone
I think something important would be for us to get businesses to have a trauma kit/AED on location. I would hope that shooting ranges have at least tourniquets on location. (might be an interesting question) Most will not have them because they are afraid of litigation if it "fails" to wor...

Re: Stop the Bleed is a must for a anyone
How many people walk around with a tourniquet? How many have a trauma kit close at hand? You can pack a sucking chest wound until the cows come home but the victim will die without a trauma surgeon. External bleeding with a chest wound is not THE major problem. Even an upper leg wound can bleed out ...

Re: First Responder Instructor Certification Training Course
So the course for us to be Instructors is 3 days of which there is probably 2 days of instruction, then we are to teach someone who is a Firefighter, EMT, Paramedic WITH a LTC, a course that could take 40 hours. How much can you charge someone and then dedicate an entire week to teach the course. Ho...

Re: unlicensed carry where alcohol is served
Again, I did my post to get discussion going. What I am reading is that we just don't really know what the actual law is and how it will be interpreted. I went to the second or third day of the requals and there were many questions that the instructors could not answer. LTC holders, as a group are v...

Re: unlicensed carry where alcohol is served
For the sake of a discussion (I do not know if I support this). Pretty much any gun buster sign IS binding for non-licensed carry. Could someone argue that the Blue Sign would be considered a warning to non-licensed carriers to not carry there. I agree that the signs are relics that should be remove...

Re: Please help me understand some twists in PC § 46.15
This is my area of confusion and maybe it is only semantics. I define "prohibited locations" as the premises of a school, a polling place, a court house, etc. I call places with signs as a "posted place". Maybe in this post we are referring to a prohibited place as any place wit...

Re: Please help me understand some twists in PC § 46.15
The way I read that section of law, it is a clumsily worded attempt to say that prohibited locations must be posted or the person must be told and then not depart before charge can be filed. When I read the actual bill, section m, n, o, and p were all added at one time and in one specific section o...

I ALWAYS carry at home....at least a LCP2 in a Meco back pocket holster. Looks just like a wallet. Off topic. 6 members have posted on this topic and I am the junior one with only 13 years membership. https://mecopocketholsters.com/shop/ols ... et-holster
