Re: Reflections on the CHL written test

Another caveat to what I wrote previously. I have learned more about the use and care of firearms since I have received my CHL. This through reading different Blogs about firearms, especially this one, than I learned my entire time in the Military/L.E. Military was all about ROE, while L.E. was abou...

Re: Reflections on the CHL written test

The test is there simply because the general mindset is that every course of instruction must have a test. This ignores the fact that continuing education courses required/taught for every profession in Texas do not require a test as part of the course. (At least the ones of which I am aware; i.e. ...

Re: Military Police

If you locked your gun and all ammo in the trunk, while on a federal facility, I'm assuming that this would still not be good enough to avoid arrest. Comments? SIA Each installation has separate rules concerning weapons being brought on post/base. As general rule of thumb you cannot normally have a...

Re: Military Police

That is no longer the policy. . you must now have the weapon registered PRIOR to coming to the gate. You MUST have the weapon unloaded, locked up out of your reach, you MUST declarer that you have a weapon in the vehicle, and you MUST state what your authorized purpose for entering the instillation...

Re: Military Police

What if you are pulled over by an MP while on a base, unarmed of course, should you show your CHL along with your DL? I work on Post here at Fort Hood with the DES. If I were you, I wouldn't show your Concealed Carry License with your Drivers License, I am assuming you are unarmed. It would sure in...

Re: King Tuk IWB holster

I have one for my Glock 38, really love it, super comfortable and allows easy access to my weapon. The holster itself was super tight when I first got it. I wrapped the weapon in a paper towel several times where it was hard to place back into the kydex holster, heated up the kydex with my wife's ha...

Re: Chet Edwards(My USACE pet peeve)

Finally someone has introduced a bill in congress that seeks to allow individuals to carry on USACE lands. Of course no Texan was a part of it. (I don't know how to do the smily thing). U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs, R-Lakeville Ohio has introduced the Recreational Lands Self-Defense Act last Thursday. The Re...

Re: NEW CALL TO ACTION: Campus Carry

I am mostly a one issue voter and that is the reestablishment of our 2nd Amendment rights. Also, usually those who I feel support my views concerning the 2nd also fall into my way of thinking concerning most if not all of the other issues. But now, I am starting to feel that this is a party directed...

Re: HB 2756 Open Carry bill reported favorably

Open carry will probably not pass in Texas, at least in the near future. With that said, I would like to see something passed such as that suggested by Florida, i.e. HB 45, which protects concealed weapons permit holders from being prosecuted if their guns are accidentally exposed. I know Texas alre...

Re: Domesticated Coyote?

In East Texas, my friend had a pet Coyote for a time that he had got from one of his friends. He stated that the Coyote wouldn't ever bark, never sought affection and often would just sit and stare at him with those yellow eyes it had. Gave him the hibi jibis, so he gave it away as well. He stated i...

Re: Chet Edwards(My USACE pet peeve)

I don't often post, just lurk and learn. Although this is not concerning Chet Edwards it does concern USACE and their policies. I wrote John Carter and this is his reply; Thank you for taking the time to contact me with your concerns regarding the Army Corps of Engineers land firearm policy. Your in...

Re: USACE Don't Ask Don't Tell

My friends and I were talking about this at work. We can carry in National Parks, State Parks and have had the Supreme Court rule in favor of the 2nd Amendment. I am and will always be and vote Conservative. I have written all of my "Republican" Senators and Congressmen about this issue. I...
