Re: Special Session -- 2013

This was the last chance for Perry and Dewhurst in my book. It is time to really get behind Greg Abbott for Governor and Jerry Patterson for Lt. Governor in 2014.

Re: I THINK WE DODGED A BULLET

With the possible exception of Obomacare and maybe Bengazi I do not believe McCain would have done anything different than Obama. I also lost all faith in Ann Coulter when she endorsed Christi.

Re: McCain mad at Cruz & Tea Party

Now McCain is on a "secret" visit to Syria, urging the U.S. to get involved in that civil war: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/may/27/in-secret-trip-to-syria-mccain-hears-rebels-pleas-/ So does that make McCain an "illegal immigrant"? And can he be put on a "pathwa...

Re: Getting discouraged

The Governor of Texas does not have the power to issue Executive Orders. Governor is a fairly weak office in Texas.

Re: Bill to eliminate Texas reciprocity

Arkansas just passed a law requiring recognition of any valid permit and eliminated conditional reciprocity. Should Texas go the other way ? "Act 1089 establishes that Arkansas must recognize any valid Right-to-Carry permit issued by another state and replaces the current conditional reciprocit...

Re: Settlement with LAPD in Dorner case worth $4.2 million

I can only assume, that one fired and the rest fired hearing the gun fire. The news isn't reporting that they were allegedly driving at night w/o their lights on. Anybody that has patrolled in those weee hours know that news paper people drive idiotic. I have stopped so many I have lost count. Not ...

I agree the instructor has the discretion, however I do not think my insurance will cover me for an ADA lawsuit. So I do not enforce such a requirement.

Re: Loading Magazines

I hold that the shooter MUST show he/she can load one magazine. You don't JUST have to use your hands. I regularly have older students, and I've demonstrated (and sold!) more than a few MagLULAs during class. One student of mine only had the use of one arm, and he was able to load a magazine just f...

Re: HB47: Reduction of Class Hours for Initial CHL

I have read hundreds of posts on this forum that state "There was a guy in my class..." "This person couldn't..." yet I have not seen the news stories of the horrible catastrophes of these people being licensed to carry. Since a Texas resident or visitor can carry on a Florida li...

Re: We are the enemy

When this story aired last night Brett Shipps intro was " is 4 hours enough to teach someone to use a firearm" (paraphrased). A CHL class is not intended to "teach someone to use a firearm" 4 hours is plenty to teach the CHL course. Of course if it is lowered to 4 hours we could ...

We are the enemy

http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/Safety-concerns-raised-over-193438831.html It's a booming business for two former cops, Travis and Paula Bond, who have run DFW Shooters Academy for the past two years. "There are just some folks who probably shouldn't be training other people,” said Travis Bond....
