Phil Oxley Passed Away & Impactzone Closing?

#1

Post by Rafe »

The latest mailing from Brian Hoffner opens with this:
Because of the passing of our good friend Phil Oxley, the Impact Zone is now closed.
Tactical Rifle that was scheduled for April 20, 21, 2024 will be rescheduled at a new venue.
Join us for a celebration of Phil's life May 9, 2024, 2-5pm
at Rudys BBQ, 21799 Katy Freeway, Katy 77450
The range's Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/p/The-Impactzo ... 555999787/; it's located at 10878 Kerr Road, Hempstead.

I didn't know that Phil was ill, if in fact he was. Does anyone know any details about his death? And if this means The Impactzone is closing permanently? It's been a fixture for ages west of Houston for shooting competitions and training classes. Don't know if I can make it to Rudy's on May 9, but I'm going to see if I can wrangle it.

Sad to hear that. Impactzone was a great place to train. Hopefully it can re-open under new ownership.

He died suddenly from a heart attack. I saw a posting yesterday that Impact Zone is closed permanently, and the family will be selling it. I guess it will be up to the buyer if they are going to continue as a range or not.

Thanks for that update. Prayers for the family.

Is it just me, or are we seeing a systemic shrinkage of range numbers?
