NEW MEMBER SIGN UP QUESTION

#1

Post by montgomery »

There is a young man with a wife and two children that want to join the NRA and cannot afford it. I want to sponsor this family for a year. Aside from the standard $30 a person membership, is there some discount available so I can help this family while not breaking my own bank?

I just did a googly on “NRA membership for the destitute” and came up with no information. My guess is that no such official NRA program exists. However, there MAY be outside organizations that will donate membership, or match funds for membership. You’ll have to do your research. I would start by contacting Charles L Cotton, the owner of this forum, who is a member of the NRA’s board of directors. He may be able to point you in the right direction.

Of course, everyone’s personal finances are different, and some are forced by circumstances to live “closer to the bone” than others; but the $60 for two memberships doesn’t strike me as that expensive. If you have a paypal account and will send me your info by PM, I’ll send you $30 to buy one of the memberships, if you’ll pay for the other.

If you can "vouch" for them as good folks, why don't we chip in $5 each to you in paypal and sponsor them for the first or second year? After that, they can save $2-$3 a month to renew.

If you get 5 others, PM me your paypal and Ill send my $5. :tiphat:

The NRA Membership join page shows 1 year at $40. I can't find a page that lists annual at $30.

Regardless, I'm in for $5 to assist if someone can tell me how to go about sending the money.

I think that was a promotional deal a few months ago that I remembered... I got a couple guys from my Bible study group to join then. :thumbs2:

That's 3 plus the OP... a couple more and we'll have it!

There was a March promotion that was $25 for 1 year but that has expired.

Three year for $75 via that link. I say just see how much comes in then buy one regular membership for as long as you can and then an associate membership for $10. Then they'd only have to renew the associate for the next couple of years. I'm in for $10.

(Knowing this group they'll end up with life memberships.)

Click on any of the join NRA pictures. You need to go through a recruiter.
