CHL Renewal After Expiration Still Available

#1

Post by Charles L. Cotton » Sun Sep 15, 2013 7:41 pm

[flash=][/flash]I have been advised by DPS that the administrative rule allowing someone to renew a CHL after expiration is still in effect. This means people can renew up to one year after expiration.

This is very good news.

It's definitely good news for procrastinators but how does DPS justify ignoring the law? The renewal bill is very clear about the timing.

There are numerous threads illustrating that they do that very thing all the time. Here's a recent one in case you missed it: viewtopic.php?f=129&t=68999" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases,
while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force." - Ayn Rand

Will renewal applicants need to submit a CHL-100 if their license expired prior to 9/1/2013?

Who knows? DPS is making it up as they go along with no concern for the actual legislation.
