The murderer had an arrest record a mile long.
He was a sex offender in Washington State and did many other
bad things, but was out walking the street and breathing the same
air as good people.

It's a shame that someone so bad isn't in prison for a long time.

Just two weeks off of riding with a FTO. Used to having backup right there. Making the adjustment to being alone. One of the most dangerous transition stages for rookies.

I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.

Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.

Not just that. She thought she was going to take a report from an abused woman after the abuser had already left. I can imagine many scenarios where her back or side would be to the door as she is standing or seated writing up a report. He comes in basically in ambush mode. She doesn't even have time to process what's happening before she is shot. The only good thing to come out of this is that the abuser is dead. Which is what all abusers should be.

Beiruty, I'm not the least bit worried about it, my friend. If it comes down to it, I will go to prison, but one more abuser will be dead. I'm willing to make that trade.

Life in prison = thousands upon thousands of dollars
One or two well placed shots from a .45 = a few quarters

This comes on the heels of the death of an officer in Massachusetts at the hands of a guy who was on parole from three life sentences[ and after he had committed an armed robbery and shot a security guard the last time he was let out on a one day pass.

Horsefeathers! What is a shame is that he wasn't hung from the neck until dead on the courthouse lawn on a Saturday at noon...with a plethora of media coverage.

The real shame here is that the person responsible for putting this dirt bag back onto the street wasn't the one sitting with the girl friend and taking her statement on the abuse when the BG returned. If those responsible for putting long term recidivists back into society were the ones to take the brunt of resulting crimes, I would suspect that things would change in a hurry.
