Absolutely. After all, it is for the children. Well, in this case college students. Then we can move on to outlawing dangerous cars, swimming pools, bats, hammers, fertilizer...the list is endless. I think that as long as we make them all pink/blue/red/purple instead of black, we will be much safer. And you're only allowed one at a time. And no bayonet lug on your knife. Nobody needs military accessories attached to the end of their knives.

This as TX legislators sit on a bill that would allow campus carry of guns by trustworthy CHL holders.

First reports are the knife used is a scalpel.

I do not know about that. Even in UK or Australia where all firearms are banned, still knives are gangbangers' weapon of choice.

We need to ban high capacity pockets that can hold more than 5 knives. This better be enough for campus carry to pass.

How in the world do FOURTEEN people get stabbed in an environment full of improvised weapons. Books, chairs, etc....

Seems to me, how ever indignant this sounds, I am beyond caring what people think of me at this point...

But the blood of this incident is directly on the hands of those State Legislators who have obfuscated over the last two sessions on this issue...

So, if anyone has any reservations to change the law to allow carrying of firearms for lawful self-defensive purposes on school campuses in this state, by people who are certified under the provisions of the Texas CHL law...

By all means, chime in...I would love to see what you have to say about this...

Time for Texas to grow up and get a pair...

I am not angry, I am not inciting any need for violence, but I am tired of this state dragging its heels on issues of public safety like this...

According to new sources on Fark it was a a fully automatic assault knife.

Update, 2:42p ET: In a strange update, a student provided local reporters with a description of the suspect saying he has curly hair and carries a stuffed monkey around campus.
